Love Is Blind. We Are Not. You Can't Eat That on Television!

May 27, 2008 @ 10:00am

WHICH editor takes a stand against extreme diets in public, but has a different set of rules for her staff? Underlings take their food outside or close their office doors for fear of being caught with anything but water and the occasional cut veggie.

It's gotta be Anna, right?

Obviously, Anna. Even if she didn't really care (that's a big if), no one would dare take the chance.

I don't think Anna is a bad guess, but the "You can't eat that on television" must be a clue that this is happening @ Elle...p.s. remember the hilarious/embarassing Anne Slowey food diary from a few fashion weeks ago? It was like 1000 vitamins, some wine, and two canapes...for the week...so awesome

...and yes, I love love love ellipses...

it's not anna, i've seen steak and creamed spianch ordered to her office on more than one occasion

if it IS supposed to be anna it's a lame blind item b/c the same holds true at any top womens book...you don't let your bosses see you eating if at all avoidable (mostly it's just an issue of manners, it's gross to smell or see food on someone's desk that's not a salad, at least in my opinion)

I waited to post because I thought that the answer was so simple and everyone would get it-it's in the title- ON TELEVISION!!!! How about Anne Slowey or any of the Elle editors that will be seen soon ON TV on Stylista??

Amy Astley.
Fashionursta, Amy Astley recently made news (especially here on Fashionista) for going on television with Ali Michael to condemn extreme dieting.

Definitely Amy Astley. She's got major bobble head syndrome.

It may be Amy Astley...but after reading Anna Slowey's "food" diary I can definitely see her doing this.

I think this advide written by Slowey is hilarious and really strange:

Not Amy. Definitely not. Amy is actually really chill and not psycho obsessive about that.

I'm guessing Amy because it doesn't seem like she fully promotes healthy body image. I remember about a year ago reading the editor's letter in Teen Vogue and it went something along the lines of, "It's the job of models in this industry to be skinny so the clothes look good but as real girls it's your job to be healthy and take care of yourselves!" Then why do you promote the image of those skinny models in your magazine to the girls that read your magazine and want to look good in the clothes they see? I'm kind of going off on a tangent, but I thought that explanation was a lame excuse.
