“Girl I’m Asking Could You Be My Queen?”

rihanna in ppq.jpgWe know stylists work hard - it can’t be easy to dress divas, guarantee red carpet success and compete in a very small, very competitive industry - but we often wonder how hard it can really be when all the big names knock down your door with the prettiest clothes and accessories .

So we’re kind of thrilled that Rihanna’s stylist is working a little overtime to promote smaller, particularly British, labels.

The singer lit the Empire State building last night for Cartier Love Day wearing the colorful PPQ dress to the left. Then, she wore a colorful ruffly Poltock & Walsh skirt on the Today Show this morning, (Topshop - PLEASE pay attention), and she’s been out and about in plenty of outfits we don’t recognize, which is very refreshing.

Sure, people like Mischa Barton and the Olsens wear underground brands all the time, but Rihanna’s far more mainstream which means she has potential to bring indie brands into a bigger spotlight with the kind of break that only comes with devoted celebrity fans.

To Rihanna’s stylist, keep it coming.

But who is she/he?? What is the stylist's name? I'm always impressed with Rihanna's look...

i can respect that rihanna is ALWAYS refreshing & interesting.

cuz the all-black, blunt bob look from the "Umbrella-ella-ella-eh-eh" days would have been EXTREMELY tired now. and i think her great styling team has impressed a great personal style upon her (which, in my opinion, is totally acceptable).

oddly enough, Rihanna looks better than the model from the PPQ show wearing that dress. is Rihanna... dare I say... the black Agyness? lol.

I definitely agree -- Rihanna is the most consistently stylish pop star out there.

The reason that Rihanna looks better than the model from the PPQ show wearing the dress is cos the model that wore it isn't actually a model - she's Peaches Geldof, one of the London it-girls from Daisy Lowe's crowds, and daughter of Bob geldof (you know, the guy that created live 8 and make poverty history and all that).
Hope that clears it up! : )

Love Rhianna, but her style is overrated. Her stylist honestly dresses her like a high class hooker.

I'm going to make a case for the "high-class hooker" look because, although I do not feel that is an apt way to label Rihanna's style, she would still be able to pull it off because she is one of the few people in the world who I am fairly certain does NOT make her living hooking.

That being said, I do not promote MK&A's "homeless chic".

I'll admit she looks good here, but if you've seen any of her other outfit choices it would fall under sleezy instead of chic.

She's standing on the top of the Empire State Building :)
