J Brand: More Jeans for More Girls

j brand jeans.jpgJ Brand, the jeans often worn by Claudia Schiffer, Kate Moss and Cindy Crawford, is launching a new denim line for those of us who don’t make a living from being super thin and super tall.

The line, J Brand Blue Label will consist of three styles - The Scarlett (low-rise with a cigarette or boot), The Catherine (mid-rise with a cigarette or boot), and The Monroe (mid-rise that fits looser in the hips and thighs).

The jeans will have a more generous cut in the leg and contoured waistbands to fit curvier girls. Each pair is between $158 and $178, and will roll out completely by August after an exclusive launch at Bloomingdale’s this July.

So that makes: J Brand Blue Label, for girls who aren’t stick thing, Paige Denim Petite for MK+A-sized girls, James Jeans for those looking to draw attention to their ass - is everyone that much closer to being able to find the perfect jeans?

Did hell just freeze over?

why are they cheaper (not that that s so bad)? are they implying that non-stick, curvy girls make less money, aren't fashionable or what????

I guess they're trying to make their product more accessible, but I agree, it does sort of imply that regular body shape = lower price market, and vice versa.

I never felt like their current sizing is that tiny, although my older pairs seem as though they were cut wider than my newer pairs...has anyone else noticed this?

but there is nothing about extended sizes? so they are just going to make the same sizes for girls with bigger thighs?

I haven't noticed a difference. My pair from 2005 and my pair from 2008 are the same size and fit perfectly.

I have noticed that a lot of people complain they are too thin in the thighs, so good for them for listening to their consumers!

well, if it's anything like the paige petites (which still have a 31+" inseam, which is shorter than the regular ones but by no means petite), then it's probably not a big difference anyway.

or it will end up looking TOTALLY different and obviously distinguishable from the regular version. these companies don't make their money by being 'accessible' - they make it by being 'exclusive.'

I think the fit is perfect now. I'm 5"11 and 155. Don't have an issue, though i think the waist is a bit wierd on the 11' inch rise. eh? nothings perfect.

i once bought a pair of j brands online at shopbop and had to return them because the thigh was sooo thin. i usually have a problem like that with jeans cause i run, but i'm not skinny, so my thighs are bigger than stick thin. it makes it a problem when they're low rise cause then they get pulled down because they're too tight around the thighs. i will def. check them out when they're available cause it sounds like something that would fit.

i love my 814s but will admit i've had to buy two sizes up and have the waist tailored to get the thighs to fit. woohoo.
