Which not quite new, not quite vintage model enjoyed a lovely dinner last night during which she managed to stow not one but two of the waitress's pens in her purse? Perhaps she's writing something juicy? If so, we'll be the first to read it.

kenya, everything you write is mean. it is rarely about the post, and nearly always about the commenters. i don't know if your motivation comes from a desire to "protect" the fashionista editors (who I am sure can handle themselves), if you just really like to be hurtful, or if you are genuinely so annoyed by the comments of a blog's readers that you cannot contain yourself. something tells me you will definitely respond to elaborate, so i suppose i will get some kind of answer to that musing. until then, I wait with bated breath...

Um, I agree with said "lame commenters." Is that really important enough to post? People steal server's pens all of the time. Just because this person is a model doesn't make it news worthy.

i severely dislike ugly commenters and i respond to their uglyness with the same distaste. most of the "guests" like to hide behind their "guest" pseudonym and, i would place large sums of money on this, repeatedly place negative comments. like i bet this post has at least 2 repeat commenters leaving the same type of comments. "guest" why dont you get yourself a name and stop hiding behind the anonymity since you obviously read the site a lot. or are you scared of being scrutinized? and certainly not everything i write is mean. i do appreciate the writing on this blog and will stick up for it when i feel like it.

kenya--
Ok, I am the "guest" who posted the question, and I have to be honest about why i post as a "guest" (it's kind of pathetic!): I signed up for the website, gave myself a screen name, password, etc, but then forgot one or both of these exact names/words, but now I can't sign up with a new name because it says my email address already has a login id or whatever...i am not very tech-ish.
Still, I would not give my actual full first and last name, not because I write mean things, but just because that is weird...and it doesn't seem that you are giving your full info either, unless you are speaking for an entire nation's feelings on commenters' posts to a fashion blog, so I think everyone on here is kind of hiding, not because they are ashamed of what they write or are trying to pass off multiple comments of their own as the voice of many (do you really think people do that?), but because you shouldn't put that sort of info on the internet.
I am sure you are correct that not everything you write is mean, sorry, i probably shouldn't have said that. I do think that most of what you write in response to commenters, though, reaches an unwarranted level of rudeness, and your initial comment to this post (re: lame commenters) is an example.

hey - just wanted to jump in here. guest@1:13, to answer your question, yes, many people do that. we can see commenters' IP addresses whether they sign in or not, which is how we know, and which is why we sometimes don't publish certain people's comments (because you can see the history of that IP address' comments, and we know immediately if somebody is just hateful and wasting our time). but, we still publish people's comments when they're posing as different people (or sometimes they just fail to mention that they're the same person, so it looks like several different people commenting even though the commenter probably didn't mean to do this) all the time because, well, it's a free country.

why don't you just reset your password or use a different e-mail address?

sometimes it's just easier to post as a guest because it's conveniently available at the bottom of the post rather than taking the time to sign in, etc, etc. just pointing out the obvious.

I agree with Kenya. I don't think what she's saying is mean at all. "Guest", it was rude to attack the editors like that. Some of us appreciate random, quirky tidbits like this. This isn't CBS, or FOX News, so get over yourself.
Besides, you've been studying the Thesaurus and not the Dictionary so you have work to do. I expect that anyone who can use the word "bated" in a sentence can spell all of the rest of their words correctly and throw in some punctuation every once and a while. Comments like that are obnoxious. Spare us.
