Streetwalker: Park by Park

flavia streetwalker small.jpg Flavia Masson, 22, actress.

Got Her: At the Supper Club’s jazz picnic in Harlem last night.

Stalked Her: Because we were entranced by her sheer commitment to picnic dressing - the checked dress, the checked shoes, and the handbag shaped like a basket!

Shot Her: Because we’ve never seen someone wear a wrap dress that open before unless they were rail thin and super short. We love it; it works.

She Says: “The dress is DVF, and I think it’s just the most genius thing ever. The handbag is Lacroix and the jewelry is all by Francesca Visconti - she’s my mother… the flower in my hair was a garnish from one of the cocktails.”

We Say: The great outdoors!

She looks ridiculous, not even Carrie Bradshaw could pull this tacky ensemble off.

not a fan of this at all...too much going on and for being "quirky" it doesn't work. The fuschia and the red, ick.

No. The dress is cute, but the shoes do not go. And I hate the purse.

i like this ensemble, though the shoes should've been a solid color. also, the bag's a bit too bright. she needs something more demure in this outfit, but hey she's an actress - they're allowed to experiment clothes once in a while!!

cute overall. the bag has to go and the necklace and one of the bracelets..but otherwise cute! I love theme dressing as well.

if those shoes were open-toed, she ditched the half bracelet, and fixed her half-assed hair, she would look so chic. I do love the dress, though.

Do you guys realize that if fashionista ever wanted to take my photo I would probably cry and run away because I'd be terrified of being ripped to shreds on here? Every single photo that's been posted up here in the last four weeks, 75% percent of you have hated it and ripped the person apart. Do you sincerely hate everything? Put down the haterade and lighten up people!

She needs to de-clutter the ensemble, but the foundation is good. Keep: dress, necklace. Add: simpler shoes, funky (not fuscia!) purse, and have hair down. Voila.

The loads of cheap jewelry, flower in hair, bulky/bright bag, and busy shoes are distracting from a potentially tres chic summer look.

Purse and shoes...not so much.

Some Fashionista readers need to stop watching Mean Girls so often...vicious, vicious, vicious.

I didn't even notice how low-cut the dress was at first. The necklaces are as good as a tank to add a little propriety.

Her jewelry is cluttered. She could have benefited by losing the ring and a bracelet before she left the house.

ok really this is absolutely horrendous and i am completely appalled that this is considered having great fashion style. she over does it on the gingham and the jewelry is way too much. usually i agree with you guys but this is a first...

no, it would be vicious if it was a truly amazing outfit and there was like, one thing off about it.

this is way too much going on for my taste. dress good. rest.. looks like a mix of accessories from claire's and walmart.

Oh, everyone's a critic! She looks beautiful -- daring, fun, and (most importantly) event-appropriate. That DVF dress was such a coup -- I Netflixed "PS I Love You" last night and Hillary Swank wore the red-and-black version.

The dress is cute and the purse would also be if it was with another outfit. I agree that this outfit is too busy, if I could afford Lacroix and DVF I'd at least try to look half decent, but then again I just might be bitter ;).

Adding my two cents worth..

Yes, this outfit is HORRENDOUS! Those shoes, that bag, those jewellery... The dress is rad and could've been made grungier but no. Alas.

Fashionista, please get some inspiring ensembles!!

Well, I like her! I do think it's a bit over the top but it's fashion, people! Things are allowed to be a little exaggerated! I agree that the shoe's don't exactly go, but she's sticking with a theme!

I would like to see the outfits of the people leaving these comments!

Well said Etoilee8! Fashion should be an expression of one's self. With the ultimate goal being content with the way you feel and not how the masses perceive you and with that lovely smile it looks like the mission was accomplish.

Agreed. I think that this girl has tremendous style and panache. Her personality comes shining through; she looks like someone who knows how to have a good time.
People who take fashion too seriously are those that don't know style. She had fun with her outfit, she took some risks, and it all worked beautifully!

guest at 10:58a - Style is about the expression of personal self, fashion is about wearing clothes that are trendy, in alignment with the current aesthetic. She definitely has her own style, but her assembly of said style could use some work.

Having said that, maybe she's aware that the outfit is outlandish and busy - maybe her intention is to push aesthetic boundaries?

Having said that, she still looks better than I do in the morning!

I agree about dressing for the masses comment - if we all did that we'd all look the same. I'm proud to not dress for the masses and I'm glad this chick doesn't either. It's a fun look, especially for a weekday picnic!

The bag is awesome, just not with that outfit.

I'm wondering...did the flash or something distort the color? Lighting can do crazy things, so it might've looked fine in person but translated badly to the image.

She clearly has a sense of humor and a personality, and honestly, I'd much rather that than a perfectly styled bitch.

Carrie Bradshaw did have a similar look to this in an episode in Sex and the City. Her hair was down, the dress was a similar pattern but in red, she had fewer accesories, and wore wedges. A little decluttering and her Carriesque look can come together!
