Topshop & Brooklyn, Like Two Peas in a Pod

Jun 13, 2008 @ 1:17pm

topshop ad.jpgI live within walking distance of McCarren Park Pool, a gigantic, hollowed out, left over WPA project covered in pretty graffiti that plays host to awesome concerts, slip'n'slide parties and late night movies.

It's one of the best things about living in Brooklyn, and now it's playing host to Topshop, too.

In anticipation of its October opening, the UK chain will sponsor the pool's schedule, dress the staff, take street style pics and hopefully, fingers crossed, bring the Helmut Newton modeling machine to the concrete shores of Williamsburg.

We're pretty sure that the fans of MGMT, MIA, Wilco etc. (some of this summer's line-up) are the last people Topshop needs to reach out to - they're the ones who've already penciled the alleged October opening date into their calendars, or iphones, or whatevers.

But we're thrilled. And we can't wait to see a pool full of exceptionally creative people hoping to get caught by Topshop's powerful cameras.

Wow, I am very jealous that I don't live near this place. Gogol Bordello and Ronnie Spector, plus fun movies? So very jealous...
