davids.jpg Those cool kids from London may need to do something besides signature t-shirts.
On the left, you’ll see a tank from David David, the British line hyped by rave babes and shown during Topshop’s New Gen celebration last year.
David David has partnered with Fred Perry and Henry Holland on various projects and parties, and sells for $75 – $100 per shirt.
It’s in Vogue UK a lot, and in Super Super and Dazed, and on the kind of kids who sleep on a mattress of old Kate Moss photos.
On the right, a $19.99 tee from Forever 21.
This shouldn’t be surprising, and it isn’t, it’s just, well…
Bummer.

they both rip off the 80s anyway

and sail boats! or that’s what i think of anyway..
ps that t-shirt is really ugly so i doubt they sell too many.

it looks nothing like the david david shirt.

Wow, I love the F21 shirt. I’m going to get it asap!

i agree with guest @ 1:11. they look nothing alike. they both have multicolored triangles but i seriously doubt that a person would have a hard time deciding between the two — they are just too different. one looks flattering (but totally overpriced) while the other one looks like something you would throw on to go to the gym (but affordable). given its price tag, that david david version better be a cotton-lycra blend! i would hope it would at least retain its shape longer…ps, fashionista: that would be a way to take these ‘adventures in copyrights’ to the next level. tell us how the construction differs!!
