Guess? Who’s Going to Rehab

Nicole T_Guess.jpgThe new Guess? ads are out, and they’re great, but a little bit sad.

After all, if Amy Winehouse were healthy, she’d look exactly like this picture of a sultry beehived babe, as embodied by Aussie model Nicole Trufino.

It’s clear Guess? is taking a page from Karl Lagerfeld’s latest Cruise collection, which was based entirely on Ms. Amy and featured Coco Rocha wearing yesterday’s eyeliner and hair more teased than a nerd in eighth grade.

We like the direction where Guess? is going, straddling their pinup girl heritage with something more music-infused and borrowed by high fashion.

Maybe for Fall, they’ll make it look like Duffy?

i like those ads, but i wouldn't have called amy a sultry babe even in her pre-crack days.

uhh what are you talking about? Guess campaigns usually have "sultry beehived babe" with heavily lined cat-eyes and beehive/bedhead hair. and the model's look isn't quite amy winehouse; she's actually very sexy. if anything i'd say they're referencing brigitte bardot or some other glamazon beauty from the 60s and/or 70s.

i second that guest at 1:15 July 16th. i was gonna say the exact same thing. I'm getting tired of the beehive and cat eyes being attributed to amy winehouse. if anything she is the worst example of those two iconic beauty staples. Brigitt Bardot is the ULTIMATE example of the perfect cat eye/beehive combo.

it's great to see Nicole Trunfio back. She skyrocketed among the brazilians and then she disappeared. Hope she does shows this coming Fall.
