i think she just means she doesn't know nearly as much about fashion as people probably think she does. she gets styled and dressed by other people, etc.

i don't think its a diss to say that most normal (i.e. typical) girls in America don't know who all the cool designers/models/whatever are. I think that was her point, she's not the girl who's into fashion and goes to style.com to look at each show or discuss which model is the edgiest or popular etc :P

For example, I have girlfriends who look great and dress nicely but don't know or care to know that my bag is marc jacobs or whoever. And they don't know who most designers are...

its cute of her,

agree with the above-

Leighton's more concerned with acting and working than keeping up with what's cool or in.

Of course she goes to events, gets styled and dolled up; looking gorgeous while doing it.

But she's down to earth and honest when she admits she doesn't consider herself a fashionista in the sense that she can rattle off "rodarte/marc jacobs/bfs with anna wintour etc"...

that said, i hope she gets more fashion press because i'd love to see more of her!

I love how the word normal gets tossed around oh.... and this "normal" girl is on the Aug. cover of a fashion mag. (lucky) naming her TVs best dressed star.
