Julia Falls Into the Gap

julia for gap.jpgThose much anticipated Gap ads have finally debuted. Well, sort of.

Division Street just posted four: Chanel Iman, Georgina Chapman, Lily Donaldson and, unexpectedly, Julia Restoin-Roitfled.

We love models, duh, but Carine’s daughter wins this one.

Meanwhile, we’re still waiting for the ads featuring Leigh, Liv Tyler, Hugh Dancy, Ryan McGinley and hopefully, despite what we’ve heard, Scott Schuman.

We love that Gap ads actually make us want to go to the Gap. Do you think Carine shops there?

These are great ... can't wait to see the guys. I'm really curious to see how the stuff that Patrick Robinson did sells. I'm thinking we all might be falling into the Gap this fall.

despite their "uncool" reputation i've always counted on the gap for excellent quality clothing. Most of my gap items I bought there when I was 16 and they are still in great condition.

Wow, I used to say many means things about Gap and Old Navy, but I think the times are a-changin'.

Is Gap making that bracelet that Julia is wearing or is it just a styling choice? I want it!

I love these ads so far (hopefully, they'll include Scott!).
Gap's curvy jeans are the best fitting and most comfy I've ever worn.

What happened to the hate you guys had for Abercrombie and Hollister when they made those EXACT SAME fringed scarves? Where are the complaints about how these companies obviously have no concern for the Palestinian significance behind their garments? Why no mention about how outdated this style is?

I guess the perspective changes when you're dealing with a brand you deem "worthy" of your respect. Oh yes, The Gap is SO MUCH better than Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister, only because you hypocrites are willing to actually set foot in there. Stop denying you guys are snobs, because you obviously are. Never in my life have I seen so many holier-than-thou attitudes collected in the same place.

gap and old navy are pretty great. as long as you stay away from things that have the logo stamped on them. i always stockup on basics, and their denim is pretty amazing.

To 2:51--The Gap has never printed racist t-shirts (to the best of my knowledge) which Abercrombie and Hollister have done, nor does it have a well-documented history of racism/size-ism in hiring staff for its stores. It generally helps your brand image not to have a history of xenophobia, you know?

Also, these scarves have a pretty clear plaid pattern that's distinct from the keffiyehs. Not all fringed scarves are created equal.

Finally, I love the striped cardi, the blazer, the belt...I can't wait toget my hands on some of this.

I think GAP it's a excellent place to buy basics with good cuality and design, and the ads are great, still waiting for what they have for us boys. I specially like the Lily ad, pretty cool .

The bracelet Julia Roitfeld is wearing is by Pamela Love. She just had a story in the Sunday Styles section of the New York Times.

tsk tsk, Guest no. 6, such hate! I just want to point out that this particular scarve really has no Palestinian significance, considering it looks like a regular plaid scarf with a fringe, not a keffiyeh with the distinct pattern.

Great styling! If you look beyond all the styling, it's just basics. I hope they improve their color story, fit and fabric. That's why everyone shops at American Apparel....

I can say as a Gap employee that, for the first time in my two years there, Gap workers are excited for their company. We are proud of what we're putting in stores and the positive press is awesome.

And the best part is...I have A LOT more to use my discount on now!

(Besides, I'm happy to work for any company that posts pictures of the amazing Chanel Iman in their stores.)
