His first collection was called Wannabe....inspired by ??? I know they were lower priced shoes for women who wanted a "high priced look"...champagne taste on a beer budget, only with shoes...

The term "Wannabe" was coined in the 80s, referring to the millions of girls who wanted to dress like Madonna, i.e., Maddona Wannabes. So my guess is Madonna?
