i don't like he angry faces.. why does fashion have to have so many angry faced models? i mean you don't have to grin but damn don't look like you're about to go godzilla on the photographer.

Ugliest damn obi I've ever seen, and that's saying something. "Foreign country glam"? Seriously? Hideous makeup, greasy, lumpy hair in a really weird definitely-not-geisha style, and the worst shoes in the known universe. It takes talent to find ugly kimono, obi, or haori; there are so many beautiful examples out there. The stylist on this shoot managed somehow. Yeesh.

Foreign country glam? This is a biased understanding of Japanese culture, an incorrect fantasy about geisha.I wonder how real geishas react to these kind of photo shoot.

Apart from the cultural aspect, the shoots are not very impressive. Those shoes might be the reason why the model has such an painful expression.

(forgive me if there is any mistake, English is my second language.)

Yeah this model is beautiful when she isn't making the glare-y 'take me so seriously' face. I am sick of the angry teenaged drama queen model faces too. Try something different! All the models do that today though, most of them can't actually do much photographically other than standing there in the dresses or jumping around stupidly ala American Vogue.

I think some of her shots are way too staged but I think she has some good shots in there PLUS I do like her make up!

Sorry, this is just a Western woman dressed in bits of Japanese garb. None of the poses brings any sense of "Japanese" to the shot. To see what I mean imagine the model wearing clothes from UK or Italy or USA- the poses would fit just as well. Also, the model is delivering the same look in each shot.

Whoever was directing the shoot had no cultural understanding of Japan.

Like the shoot on the most part its quite good, but the model has one look. Perhaps if she changed it up a bit it would be a great shoot.

She looks upset. Also, why can't we have a Japanese model instead of a freckled redhead in "cultural" shoots like this one?
