We’ve had a love/hate relationship with the Chanel Spring 08 collection for almost a year now.

We weren’t so into the denim, we loved the stars and stripes, and we realized that no matter how chic Karl’s interpretation of the American flag might be, there are a select few who will shell out five grand for a tweed stars and stripes jacket.

Fortunately, designers everywhere jumped on the Americana bandwagon. Unfortunately, most of the stuff they’ve made isn’t so cute, but we’re loving this swimsuit.

If, like us, you love to go all out for a holiday, you’ll pair it with red wedges, too.

It’s $30, very patriotic, and probably the most flattering way to wear stripes.

We’d love to wear real Chanel to our 4th of July BBQ, but that’s just so much less practical than couture.
