Streetwalker: Floral Like it’s 1999

streetwalker 90s small.jpgEmily, Owns a small design studio for Baggu

Got her: at Prince and Wooster

Stalked her: Because florals were the thing this spring but Emily managed to put her own spin on an already established trend.

Shot her: Because we really love the shape of her dress which is at once girlish and sophisticated. The short hemline and flowers make it summery, but with the high neckline and darker color, she could totally wear this into Fall. She keeps the rest of it simple with black flats and a big brown tote - and we secretly love that she didn’t match her shoes to her bag.

She says: “I actually made my dress out of an old skirt. I’ve been really feeling the old ’90s floral prints.”

We say: Perfect for that dream date with Jordan Catalano.

She's super cute. I have baggus and they're amazing! Love that she has the magenta one slung over her shoulder.

It sort of looks like the flats have a cut out on the front. If they do, they look exactly like the ones I have from Target: thank you Issac Mizrahi!

But florals are *the* thing every spring! ;)

The flats are l'autre chose, you can get 'em at Barney's Co-Op for $395 I believe (maybe less, I'm not good at remembering prices, or names!)

I second the "L'autre Chose" comment. $295 at Barney's Co-Op. Steve Madden is also selling a similar pair for $39.

more Mom clothing? My Mother actually owns something very similar to that, only it's longer.

And I guess I'm the only one here who thinks it's a bit frumpy and not particularly flattering of her body?

It makes her look like she has a bit of a gut when it's very unlikely that she actually has one.

"a quote. from "devil wears prada". groundbreaking."

justkidding justkidding justkidding!!

but also maybe a little bit serious? and I think fashionista or some other popular blog used the same quote recently, too, just so you know I am not singling you out, guest!

I LOVE the floral trend going on right now. It's feminine and uber cute. I work at Anthropologie and we have this floral dress, called the Aubrieta Dress, that I have been keeping an eye on (it hasn't really been selling too well). I can't decide if I love it or hate it. Maybe I should actually try it on one of those days.

this kinda reminds me of something your mom would have made you wear in elementary school - the one piece, so she only has to cram you into one thing; the awful gathering on the front to take away even the slightest hint of sexuality; the tiny print... eep. soooo late 80's/early 90's k-mart.

like the shoes though :)

Those shoes are definitely L'autre Chose. And I love the old MARNI bag. She looks like she's 12. She's fierce.

Oh No.. Hahaha =] I like the style but that print.. it looks like some sorta awful bed linen! =/ Maybe it's just that color. I dunno, i'm not feeling it at all. Dig that bag though! Kudos for that! =D

We Love the LOOK! These prints are are fun/expressive for the summer months and we love how people accessorize too!

We caught Nelly late one afternoon on the streets of Paris:
