Vogue + IMG = Reality Web-TV

Jul 17, 2008 @ 9:00am

We would never believe this if it wasn't in the Wall Street Journal -

Vogue and IMG have teamed up to produce a web-based reality show called Model. Live, which will debut August 19 in twelve, eight-minute webisodes on Vogue.tv.

The cameras will follow three new IMG girls as they try to break into serious modeling, and the big people behind the show promise it'll be total reality (they've already said they'll tape whatever actually happens including depression, unhealthy eating habits, rejections, etc) as opposed to the "amateurs live" feel that most reality shows maintain.

We never thought we'd get excited about another fashion-related reality show, but this is pretty amazing considering that Vogue and IMG are major industry players, so we're already trying to figure out which girls will make it onto a major runway.

The models who we'll watch all Fall, from left to right, are Austria, Madeline and Cato (who's already walked Prada) - so cute, no?

Cato's already a big deal, she's in the new CK Jeans campaign as well. And Austria's one of their best new girls imo. Why on earth would IMG let them do something like this???

Now that is what you call good exposure...For it to be back by Vogue is a huge deal. I'm glad Vogue is finally getting into the reality show genre, it seems they would do it justice. Also its kinda exclusive for online only which makes it more exciting. All the girls are beautiful and already established so it should be interesting

The models look great, but what sort of name is Cato? Perhaps I took one too many ancient history class, but Cato definitely screams "stuffy old Roman in a toga."

I think this'll be great ... but leave it to Vogue to produce a $3 million Web series. For every minute, is another assistant's yearly salary.

I think Austria has potential. She's the most unique of the three. And so shy!

I'm actually looking forward to seeing this.

I know what you mean about Madeline being unique! I saw an ad for this in the new Vogue and Madeline caught my attention right away! Beautiful skin+ those legs, whew!

Oh! I am going to happily jump on the Madeline bandwagon! I am officially smitten - she is a breath of fresh air in a stale, homogeneous landscape of models. Hurrah!
