We love your show. And while some in our office might be on Team Blair, we love you, too.
And so we’re kind of worried about you. Have you lost track of where Serena Van Der Woodsen ends and Blake Lively begins?
It’s ok that you’re dating your on-screen boyfriend off-screen, apparently everyone does that, but we’re concerned with your wardrobe. See, Serena’s outfits are ok for TV, (truthfully, sometimes they’re a little much), but they’re not ok for real life. And yet you pile on the accessories and carry the outrageous bags through New York as if you can’t leave GG world.
We love Vena Cava too, but they’re Serena’s favorite brand and there’s really no need for you to wear every single romper they’ve ever made.
And the outfit you wore to the premiere party this weekend, at left, had us super worried until we realized that it was the premier party and you’re probably just getting into character.
You should talk to Sarah Jessica Parker about this, she managed to learn a lot from Pat Field without ever actually dressing like Carrie.
Can’t wait til the 1st!

awww no! i think she looks cute! she probably is just inspired by her on screen style. i will say, however, it wouldn’t hurt her to crack a smile. she shouldn’t be acting like the jaded serena, but it think it is okay if she dresses similar.
Honestly, when you play someone long enough their style rubs off on you. i think she always looks cute – a way better dresser than Mischa Barton.
I love Serena and Blake herself, everytime she does an interview she comes off so warm and nice…but I really don’t think she ever dressed well. I get the idea that Blake Lively only knows fashion from what she wore on Gossip Girl and previously had very little style experience. The girl mentions how she loves Chanel every time she speaks…it’s a little obvious. Also, I dont even think Serena would wear that weird, unflattering white thing.
I like the rompers. That outfit there is a hot mess, but 90% of the time I think she gets it right.
Everyone on that show looked like a hot mess at that party, don’t just pick on Blake.
eww, hot mess is an understatement. i am confused – does she have some kind of sheer white undergarment on or is her stomach really that pale? i have no problem with fair skin, it’s admirable…i’m just having difficulty comprehending the outfit. then again, maybe her calf-length knotted belt thing is blinding my vision. belt+scarf=barf; coincidence? not in my book.

I think she looks great. I don’t really understand the Blair obsession. Most guys I know think Blake looks better than Blair. But for some reason most girls pick Blair ( I forget her real name)!? My theory is that Blair is the more attainable of the two. Like how most women say they love Jennifer and guys pick Angelina…
And Blair’s on screen looks – no one really wears all that! But you see similar Serena inspired eclectic looks all the time. However, I really like both of them – they inspire different aesthetics.
Okay…I never commented on anything GG-related because I never watched the show. Until last night, that is. I totally understand the fascination with the show now. I loved it! And I’m definitely getting the Season 1 DVD to do a marathon with other friends that had never seen the show until last night and loved it, too. Thank Jeebus for Olympics fatigue making turn on the CW and give GG a shot.
AMEN!!!!! I’ve been calling for Blake to get a new stylist since the show started. She’s so pretty, but she dresses horribly.

But I have to say, everybody on that show dresses like Saturday nights leftover hot mess on their way to church! I catch them on those celebrity stalker chat shows, just revolting! Will somebody please introduce them to proper fit, Lanvin & Balenciaga…don’t get me started on those boys! The Grossest!!
Wow I’ve never heard anyone whine so much. What’s wrong with wearing a lot of Vena Cava in real life? It looks great on her! This outfit is hideous, but I don’t see anything wrong with going with a romper that looks awesome, even if trl were every day.

Aw,I think she looks fab (though count me on the Blair Bandwagon).
And of course guys prefer Serena! What do they know about fashion?! She’s a classic sexy, tan, blonde boy-magnet wearing jeans and boots, which is easy for them to understand. Women (particularly women who are into fashion) tend to prefer Blair because her get-ups are more offbeat and surprising– and not necessarily “sexy”.
I love Blake, but that outfit is awful.
Blake is adorable, but her fashion sense is not. This outfit is just plain hideous. And Serena’s clothes generally actually fit her, while Blake’s… don’t. It just gets worse and worse…
i guess this is convenient if she loses her napkin, she can wipe on the top instead.

Sure, this white ensemble is a pretty awful mistake on Blake’s part, but I don’t see anything wrong with her pulling inspiration from Serena and rocking the look on screen and in real life. Not that Serena would ever wear such a hideous outfit…
leighton definitely looks and works better on the red carpet. she’s even dubbed as the next SJP. beat that serena eerrm.. blake!
