Buy, Buy, Baby

Dude, Awesome Tripp

SD3242P-RDZBmd.jpgSurprisingly, we loved everything that came down the Balmain runway for this Fall. And ever since, boldly colored animal prints have been weighing on our minds.

So you can imagine our lust when we came across these skinny red and black zebra jeans from Tripp NYC.

They ride the line between punk and sex appeal - a totally wearable jean with just enough edge that says, “We can totally kick your ass.”

We usually stay away from various printed jeans due to their propensity to make legs look like polka-dotted sausages, but these Tripp babies are dark enough to pass the flatter test, not to mention all those diagonal lines might actually be slimming. The best part? They’re only $46!

Cool, original, wearable jeans for under $50 - need we say more?

These look an awful lot like last year's Kusubis, which I think they're still on sale at Barney's.

They have a great selection of Tripp NYC stuff at Trash and Vaudeville (and a bunch of raver pants in case you're tired of the skinny jeans look and want something a little more, um, '90's).

Based on the post a few down, shouldn't fashionista be frowning upon these pants and insisting that people buy the original Balmain.

I love it when you guys contradict yourselves

Tripp has had this style out for quite a while. I got mine 2 years ago at Trash and Vaudeville in a dark grey/black combo so the zebra print is less obvious.

i wouldn't wear pants like that unless they were balmain, and balmain proper, i.e. justification for even CONSIDERING those pants!

You know those "team colors" sweat pants that Tigers fans wear? The ones with stripes... and orange... and fugly... yeah. Those would be a step up. These are hands down the ugliest jeans I've ever seen.

Alright kids, honestly we need to do our homework here... While it is totally correct that these jeans also sell in HotTopic, Trash & Vaudeville and Tripp which are owned by the same people were doing skinny jeans long before most of us new that we wanted to wear them. This is basically like the 3rd or 4th incarnation of the same jeans they have always been doing coming back into style or "vogue" if you will. This is also not the first time their jeans have been featured in Vogue in the last few years.

I also agree with the comment that the gay version is a bit more subtle but countless readers of this website as well as fashion editors have been wearing their solid and striped jeans again over the past few years.

If anything, that Balmain collection was knocking off Tripp, they just luxed it up a bit.

yep. Jeremy Scott did these in purple and black last year in his collaboration with Ksubi, titled "Jeremy Loves Ksubi"

not that i'd wear them anyway...
