DIY: Super Kawaii!

diythumb.jpgBetween flipping through Fashion Rocks wondering how/why Justin Timberlake got the cover and seeing Rihanna’s face on every other page, I was was overcome by a “fatal attraction to cuteness.”

That cuteness was Siri sporting rubber toys on her head in the most fun fragrance ads since Juicy and Moschino. And the fatal part? Well, my friends (and you guys) might kill me for wearing this in public…

What you’ll need:

- An elastic headband, 2 for $3 at H&M
- Needle, Thread, Scissors
- Rubber ball toys (not sure what to call these, but they were in a clearance bin at Kinko’s and Party City probably has them too.)
- Flair: flowers, sequins, bows, and buttons, to your heart’s content
- Gwen’s Love. Angel. Music. Baby. album (troop of pet backup dancers optional)
- A sense of humor

All you need to do is sew on the balls & other flair. Not that hard.

Dare you to wear it out - take pictures!

I think they're called Koosh balls? And while I would never leave the house wearing one, I would definitely walz around the house with it on.

Guess you are too young to remember Koosh balls, from the late 80's/early 90's. Seriously- would NOT reccomend wearing this out.

i wonder if they still make the mini koosh balls with little feet and arms. would that be creepy to wear one on your head? i used to keep a tweety bird koosh ball on my bedroom doorknob to keep my baby sister out b/c she was afraid of them. oh, memories.

#7 - Nope, not too young. Rather too old to remember what they were called. But the second I saw the word KOOSH the logo and memories came flooding back...

and who needs someones permission to have fun with fashion? definitely not me!

Jazzi, wear what you dare! I have vivid memories of your creative, and what I sometimes thought outlandish, fashion ideas. But you always have, and always will, pull them off stylishly. Guess who! Love ya.

"Stunninng?" Hardly. It's a shock that anyone would wear something so clownish. Go ahead, be a buffoon. Just don't count on me to join you.

Guest 1-- you're right, they're totally Koosh balls. Very much an 80's toy of my childhood, like colorful slinkies and troll dolls.
