Fall's Tall, Dark and Handsome

Aug 27, 2008 @ 10:33am

black trend for fall.jpgIt's no secret that Alexander Wang's Fall 08 collection is one of our biggest inspirations for our upcoming Fall wardrobes. Lucky for us, his specific mix of masculinity and femme fatale was echoed at the Burberry, Max Mara and Rick Owens shows, too.

Nothing says serious Fall fashion like a looming darkness and strength - and we're glad the designers are in on it, too.

So pull out your boyfriend blazer and borrow his beenie hat, with your hair pulled down of course - and what could be sexier than that?

i think the black and brown with the gold/bronze accent looks kind of interesting. i'm not sure how it would look on the street as opposed to the runway, but i'm tempted to try it. i've done black and navy before and it's worked pretty well.

I love black and chocolate brown together. It's very dark and interesting. Looks gorgeous with the bronze bag--I'll have to add that to my wardrobe. For the street I'd femme up the look a bit. I want those arm warmers!

Okay...so great loves it! Wang look is so hot, buthis model look a hot mess and what is up with that rick owens pant thing? P.S. Geat to see the colors go-- and it look as if Mr. pugh himself is the inspiration for the runways this season.

There are ways to make really elegant and seducing fashion designs with black (and gold, silver), but the brown is vague and even more the models themselves look quite depressive.

The Burberry is brown? I thought it was more of an Army green...

I love the knit accessories from Burberry, I'm already plotting some knitting patterns to recreate the hats and fingerless gloves!
