We didn’t realize Siri’s spot as the Harajuku Lover girl meant television commercials, too, but we’re certainly glad it does.
For the record, we think Siri should be forced to moonwalk on a technicolor keyboard every day of the week, but we’re not really sure when/where this would air.
Maybe during Care Bears?

Orientalism is the fetishization of things from the "Orient" by the West. Its typically applied to the middle east, but can easily be applied to Asia as well. Its funny that you say it sounds racist, because Orientalism could be considered a form of racism wherein people from the West consider Middle Eastern/Asian people to be the "exotic other." Its called Google and Wikipedia, give it a try!
Personally, I just find it gross that its cool to use all these stereotypical renderings of asian culture to sell stuff, but only as long as there's a cute white girl at the forefront. Apparently Asian isn't aspirational enough!

i miss old gwen. she's still stuck on her harajuku obsession, hm? i think that she pretty much needs to hurry up with her no doubt album ASAP to bring her back to reality.. and what was with the yatta ("i did it" in japanese) at the end? i don't think anyone who doesn't know japanese understood what it meant until it became hiro nakamura's catchphrase in heroes.
