First, I saw Stam (!!!!!!) this afternoon at 12th and 3rd Ave with a boy on a bike, looking cute as a button as usual.

Ten minutes later, took the train to Soho and saw Erin Wasson on Broadway crossing over towards Opening Ceremony (just a few blocks from Alex Wang's showroom).

An hour later, Cintia Dicker was in workout clothes with someone that appeared to be her boyfriend in my local Union Square Whole Foods. She was really sweet - I asked if I could take a picture of her and she said of course, but then the staff at Whole Foods started bitching as I took out my camera and said that I couldn't take pictures there! Still, she might be the most gorgeous model in person I've ever seen.

I swear I didn't schedule in all of this model-scouting; basically the best day ever, and I didn't even have to run around any tents!

um, ouch guest #1. don't pretend you're too cool to be wowed by a celeb sighting. i work in downtown manhattan and seeing a celebrity, especially a favorite model, never gets old.

I agree with # 1. Who cares? I mean its not like you saw Kate Moss leaving the Interview offices or something. I just saw Parker Posey and her dog and she is cute as a button. Now THAT's a celeb sighting!

Guest 3, we're on a fashion related blog. People who read this blog would care! That's the whole point. I think its exciting she saw all these models. Reminds me that fashion week is coming up and models will be descending upon the city so we can expect a lot more model sightings.

um, models aren't "descending" on the city. For the most part most of them live here. Gisele lives in my neighborhood and I see her all the time, I also used to see Stam and DJ AM when they were together ALL the time but I am not emailing in about it. I can understand about being excited that fashion week is coming up and possibly being new to a city and spotting celebrities or models but the way that it came across was very stalkerish. And seriously, these people may be public figures but to bother some model in Whole Foods for a photo is sorta childish. And Guest #6 this is an open forum so I can post what I like.

What is great about this site is that it brings together people who are in the fashion industry and people who admire it from a far. Model sightings are always exciting, although they become more of an every day thing to us insiders. I work with these girls, so I would never ask for a picture. But good for you for being ballsy (albeit naive) enough to ask. I did kind of flip out the other day after seeing Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom across the street from my apartment window, though.

i wrote this in.
i work in the industry, too. i see designers and models all the time. i work with them every day. i'm not new to the city. i don't walk around stalking people. i went out with my friends to do grocery shopping and was going about my every day business.
i have seen many a celebrity in my day; i simply thought it was funny that i saw these three girls in my neighborhood within, like, two hours, and many people aren't even casting yet. i am also a photographer and like taking portraits of all sorts of people in very random environments - that's why i asked for the picture. i thought this would be a cute thing to write in about and get excited about since it is almost fashion week. doesn't make me naive or a stalker.

after reading so many condescending comments here, i am happy that i am still excited and proud to be working in the industry that i am in. i find it unfortunate that some of you are on such unnecessary high horses.

I love these people that act like they're the "typical" new yorker who sees models all the time and just brushes it off like no big deal. pleasssseee, get over yourself. wow.

Thank you for writing this in, even us new yorkers are excited to see models that we see in magazines on the street, no one can say that they don't get little butterflies from time to time.

That's part of the new york mystique and i think it's great that people write in about this. It's something special to see a model or a celeb or a designer out and about during the day, you live with them, they're your neighbors. It's not LA where they retreat back to their fortresses and have their assistants go get groceries for them.
