The Intern Needs an Intern

emily weiss blue jacket.jpgEmily Weiss, former Teen Vogue intern and Hills runway girl, now needs an intern of her own. She’s working as a 1st assistant to stylist Katie Mossman (think Numero, Bazaar) and needs a super hardworking (unpaid) intern to help out.

Musts:

1. Be available 2 - 3 days per week

2. Be cool with a wide-ranging variety of hours (sometimes, you’ll be steaming clothes by 7am. Sometimes, you’ll only work five hours then be able to catch the Monday movie at Bryant Park. Sometimes, you’ll work on Sunday)

3. Be able to handle lugging around trunks, keeping tons of different pieces straight, running around, etc. Must also be able to handle self when Coco Rocha steps into the studio on a shoot.

It would also be cool if you know your way around NYC, don’t need someone to explain what a Metrocard is, can spot Tanya D. or Nicolas down Houston - and it’d be amazing if you have some kind of PDA.

If this sounds like you, e-mail Emily directly at KatieMossmanIntern@gmail.com.

Good luck!

So would the title for this position be Second Assistant? From what I remember from The Hills she seemed a little humorless.

Yes. Shudder. I'm sure she's a nice person, but... no thanks.

Emily's really nice. She can be intense, but that's because she's focused on doing a good job. One could stand to learn alot from her!

My friend actually studied abroad with her in Europe... maybe they were even roomies idk. But she said she's a really sweet person. Cmon peeps... don't let what The Hills tells you deter you from a great opportunity. I'd apply but I can't take another unpaid job /:

At her name, I mean. It sounds like she's ripping off Kate Moss.

I'd much rather work for someone who was focused and a dedicated worker than someone who was just going to be faux-nice to me. But then again, I've been an intern before, and don't need to do that anymore.

How does this internship even sound hard? 2-3 days a week? Some weekends? Unpaid? Sounds pretty normal for a fashion-related internship. Sorry girls, you are going to have to work to move ahead. Everyone has to start off at the bottom.

Whatever. She comes across as vapid and unabashed about her privilege, which is, honestly, just tacky.

Well, if I lived in NY any fashion internship would be fine with me, but I've actually been an intern in Paris where I worked on a fitting with Coco Rocha soo... :)

Geeze you guys, no need to be rude towards Emily. I've heard from her past coworkers that she's a very sweet girl who's good at what she does. Nothing wrong with a little determination.
