Would You Wear

Would You Wear a Dangle?

a dangle.jpgAfter receiving a pair of Disney Couture bracelets as a gift last month, Faran had to come up with a new word for them: Dangles.

See, they’re almost bangles, except they’ve got a crazy Tinkerbell charm hanging off the side - and therefore, off your arm.

Similar Dangles were spotted at Betsey Johnson, at Chanel, and at Juicy Couture, but is this cool, or just - gasp - slightly tacky? We couldn’t help thinking about those little old ladies at casinos wearing big gold bracelets with those little chain clasps that hang on their arms.

Then again, we also couldn’t stop thinking about Nicole Richie.

Ultimately, Faran decided she couldn’t deal with the Dangle - but when she offered the bracelets up to her friends, everybody pounced. Would you have, too?

Of course! It's so cute. But I could see myself breaking it very easily.

The bracelet part is pretty- Tinekrbell attached? Not so much. Calling it a "dangle" is also a bit too close to "dingle" if you ask me. And we all know what that word infers.

It looks like jewelery tangled together. I'll pass.

I had a ring with a dangly charm once, but it got kindof annoying. I think this might be the same way. Cute idea, and I think it'd be fun at first, but it probably would get annoying when you have to actually move your arm. Plus the whole tinkerbell thing is pretty lame.

UM, no. Would be impossible to sit at desk all day and type. I'd probably rip the dumb lil dangly bit right off.

I had to laugh at this. If you donate a certain amount of money in my sorority to our national foundation, you get a "dangle" for your pin (because yep, we wear those for meetings). It's like a little symbol that hangs from the chain just like this. And they are always like, donate! Collect your dangles! And no one can ever take it seriously!!

I can imagine while wearing it would brush up against your skin weirdly and be uncomfortable

I think it's cute, but it would get annoying.

Disney couture had another one of these, but it was Alice and Wonderland. I was light blue and had a little Alice (or the Cheshire Cat?) dangling and a charm that said "Curiouser and curiouser," which is one of my favorite quotes. I so wanted it, but knew I probably couldn't deal with the dangle.
Then I regretted not getting it and searched high and low to no avail. Turns out they have a necklace that says "curiouser and curiouser," though, so I suppose I'm set.

um, the concept is cute, but that disney crap is unacceptable...the fact that it's called disney "couture" is laughable, and insulting

I received a Loulou de la Falaise pair as a present. I never quite got the idea of the dangles and when I eat they always dip in my food. They don't get worn very often...

i was showing my mom some juicy couture jewelry and she tried to politely remark it was "gaudy". but that's what's also good about it, ya know?
