First Look: Jason Wu
By Natalie Hormilla Friday, Sep 5, 2008 / 9:40 PMSo we made it to Jason Wu this afternoon, sometime after BCBG and Yigal, but sometime before Jenni Kayne, Rag & Bone, Shipley & Halmos and Erin Fetherston (more on them later).
Spotted:
- Anna, front row and at the end, so she could jet out as soon as the lights began to come back on.
- More Arlenis!
The clothes were a sort of strange range – it began with a lot of little dresses and pieces that looked like they could go at Anthropologie, but paired with some seriously cute shiny shoes that looked like they could go at Barneys.
But the show ended with a series of jewel toned, floaty frocks, that made us think Alber’s Spring 08 collection is still weighing very heavily on everyone’s mind.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

i love this collection! the colors, forms, and shapes are all gorgeous, and so are the oxford sandals. anna’s presence at the show really says something about jason wu’ clothes! the last few gowns are definitely lanvin inspired, but they’re lovely all the same (especially the magenta one). karlie and arlenis look great in them, too.
can you guys please stop with the sideways photos? my neck hurts from bending over so much.
darling guest number two … while I don’t think anyone is a fan of craning their neck, I think we’re all fans of living vicariously through these dedicated people — stop with the nit picking?
i agree with guest 2
Very elegant and feminine collection – but yes a few Lanvin-inspired gowns here and there.
Oh my goodness gracious!!! These clothing are beautiful!!! And the outfits at the beginning are wearable and also unique! Great show!
Jason Wu did a much much better job than Rag & Bone(completely screwed up), and his prints are lovely, although the first look on Abbey Lee seemed quite weird to me, i don’t know how to explain it but i think the proportion’s weird.
Nice collection very femenine but with some new things, and cool shoes…and Is that Anna at your side in the pic 14???
