Balenciaga Back to Menswear?

Balenciaga’s been calling in models to Paris for castings. Male models.

Yes.

We don’t know if this means a full line of menswear or just boys in drag, but keep your eyes peeled, especially since his next show is just next week.

Obviously, we really want to see if Nicolas can do for menswear what he’s been doing so successfully for women’s wear.

Will he make feminine boy clothes to complement the way he’s kicked wide open the door for masculine women’s wear? Will he take the futuristic direction that he’s planted in the minds of so many other designers to another exponential level? Does this make Nicolas the new Hedi?

ummm...balenciaga has made men's clothes for a while now.

he's been doing menswear for a long time. just never had runway shows for it. and it's always sold in stores. been very hit or miss...

OMG. I'm applying for a second AmEx right this very second to be used soley for this Balenciaga/Menswear enterprise. (if it's actually true). Now we just need to get the Proenza boys to start coming out with menswear and my wardrobe will be complete.

I am a little confused because I own pieces from The Balenciaga Men's collection from last season and I saw men's pieces in the store while I was in Paris last week ... So what do you guys mean when you say that Balenciaga Back To Menswear?

Well as some people have said Balenciaga have been doing menswear for quite a while, and I have loved every single one speccially the FW07 and this jacket (http://men.style.com/slideshows/mens/fashionshows/F2007MEN/BALENCIAMEN/RUNWAY/00010m.jpg)it's benn on my mind since I saw it. The idea of a runway show it's awesome, I start thinking about it when I didn't found the review of the SS09 collection on men.style.com since all the past collections have been presentations.

Can't wait...

huh? maybe the post should have been titled "balenciaga menswear: back to runway" since nic has been doing menswear for many seasons...but hasnt had male models walking in a collection since fall 05 i believe..

whatever, this post is just a mess. like sarah palin

Yeah there is a rack sitting at Barneys as we speak, and some leftovers at Jeffrey. It's very hit or miss like others have said and rarely correlates to the women's collections.
