Streetwalker: Do a Double Take

Streetwalker Jessica Vogue.JPGJessica, 24, fashion journalist

Got Her: Outside the Natural History Museum in South Kensington.

Stalked Her: Because we were walking behind her and noticed multiple heads turning - we had to see what they were looking at.

Shot Her: Because her outfit was indeed worthy of a head turn.

She Says: “My skirt’s practically vintage H&M. The t-shirt’s Marc Jacobs, from New York, and I love this cardigan - it’s vintage.”

We Say: Sometimes, it’s just nice to see an easily chic girl amongst the trying-too-hard fashion folk.

I like this one a lot too! Great idea about pairing a skirt like that with a casual top and cardigan... hmmm... I'm getting some ideas!

She looks so young!!

"It's vintage."
The most overused phrase in fashion!

She's adorable, but when girls like that say "vintage" I always assume they mean either "old", "swapped it for another skirt with my friend" or "used".

For example, right now I'm wearing a "vintage" shirt from Old Navy, and my "vintage" Adidas.

that's actually a HM cardigan from this year. It was seen all over the place. She is kinda lying.

Ummmmmmmmm, not liking it at all. Black, navy, shiny, matte, nothing matching. It looks like a weekend running errands look, not very polished or professional.

Haha yeah I was just about to say the cardigan isn't vintage--it's H&M from this spring/summer. But anyways, I love the entire ensemble.

I have to agree with Guest #11. If I hear "It's vintage!" one more time, I may scream.

Also, these people who were looking at her? Did they look very sad and sympathetic? Bcause the poor thing is quite obviously blind. I want to set up a charity fund for her.

i like the fact that shes not wearing a purely designer outfit completely unattainable by the average bank account.

cute:)

When she says "vintage" she probably means the style, not the actual item - meaning that it's a classic style, or a a classic part of those particular collections.

I'm thinking the term is used differently in the UK than it is here. I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt on this one.

Very cute. But it's disheartening to hear that even Brit girls think saying "it's vintage" is so annoying.

I think she looks cute. Its annoying when people say things are vintage because they'd rather not admit that the item was cheap. Weird.
