Streetwalker: Mad for Plaid

Jules Streetwalker.JPGJules, 23, Artist

Got Her: At Versailles, in front of the Koons.

Stalked Her: Let’s just say that when you plop a girl like this in the middle of squealing tourists wearing sweatshirts and fanny packs, she kind of stands out.

Shot Her: Because we’ve been obsessing over the D&G tartan for fall, and while her outfit might not be off the runway, she makes the look everyday appropriate. And, that skirt length is almost impossible to pull off. Also, did you notice the equestrian lining of her coat?

She Says: “I’ve had this skirt forever. Is plaid trendy again?”

We Say: Ah, so above it all.

Oh, how droll. "Is plaid trendy again?" Really? And she also just happens to be wearing her old grade school black frames again too?

Why do people put on this whole facade of remove when talking about fashion? Nobody's living in a bubble and everyone reacts to trends, unconsciously or otherwise. Where's the shame in admitting that? Few people are originals anymore anyway so instead riff on the trends in your own way and don't put on such a silly act.

Why do you guys keep on taking pictures on an angle and not strait? It looks like your trying too hard to be artsy and it's just plain annoying.

Right on @12:49. The same glasses that we saw on the previous streetwalker and on other AA hipsters. I like how she looks, minus the glasses. Anyway, she's wearing two trends. Would Nina approve?!

Yeah, #1, are all Parisiennes brunettes with bangs and glasses? :P

Right on, Guest #2. No one is completely ignorant of fashion trends, no matter how hard they try to convince everyone else that they're some kind of unique rebel. On the other hand, I have to sympathize with the girl. I still wear my favorite old clothes from the 90s, and even though I keep up with current trends I couldn't care less about conforming to them.

Agree with guest #2!

She definitely looks like she's trying. Come on, geek glasses and plaid? You see that in London everyday. I seriously like 5% of the street style photos you put here :/
