Streetwalker: Too Cool for School

STREETWALKER namalee bolle.JPGNamalee, 26, creative director of SuperSuper magazine.

Got Her: At the Basso & Brooke show at the Science Museum.

Stalked Her: Actually, she was sitting right across from us, so stalking wasn’t necessary this time, but we totally would’ve if we had to.

Shot Her: Because she was wearing neon blue tights with printed shoes and a differently printed skirt, topped with loads of jewelry and carrying a bag like we’ve never seen before. Also, her lipstick.

She Says: “It’s all Basso & Brooke. I mean, I styled the show for them so it’s only right that way.”

We Say: Right, Lite Bright, whatever, we love it.

um....no. Sorry, I just don't like this at all! To be fair, it could just be her scowl or her blasé, entitled quote. Or her hideous shoes.

Take off the lipstick and all of the necklaces, and it could work. Now it's just ridiculous.

I think this outfit is a don't over 18. No matter how "stylish" she is (or thinks herself to be so), something like this looks absolutely childish for me.

i hate the outfit. it sort of reminds me of something paris hilton would wear. but if she was wearing it, no one would say it was stylish.

however, i LOVE the lipstick. it works so well with her skin tone and hair. i think with a simple outfit it would have been dramatic and gorgeous. with this outfit, it looks messy and desperate.

Ew. Just ew. The girl looks like someone flipped the 80s upside down and shook them, and all the worst parts whacked her on the head, resulting in massive brain damage. The clothes, the pose, that uppity little scowl, that quote, everything about this girl is just awful.

Minus the disgusting lipstick, and plus a pair of beat up chucks and it would work. This...this is a disaster.

A girl came into my job with a bag just like that except it was brown. She said it was from Honeycomb Hideout. Her quote is kind of annoying but her lipstick and bag are great. Well, better yet, everything is great, but maybe not all at the exact same time... Still awesome nonetheless.

I think she looks fantastic. The punk/ eclectic looks she has going looks both effortlessly thrown together and deliberately thought out.

For me, it's the shoes, the jacket and the bag that finish the outift, making it trendy and wonderfully over the top. As someone said above, in this case, more really is more.

hmm... This is one of those things that I would see on the street and feel like it's not something I would never wear, and yet, despite being theoretically over the top, it doesn't really seem totally out of place. Remarkably, it's not the kind of outfit that would jump out at me and slap me across the street. I probably wouldn't give this girl more than a cursory glance,w which I guess means it works on some level.

And to the girl who thinks she looks 40 - it's all downhill from 25, sweetie. On a bad day, a 26 yr old looks like she's 40.

Her look is daring to say the least. It just needs some simplifying or de-cluttering for some of the more interesting pieces to stand out. Right now it's just too much at once.

this girl is bold, daring and most importantly original. minimalism is over guys - you all sound so old fashioned! And the lipstick is fabulous

Post #22 Minimalism is in in in!! It could never be out, it's too chic! Although I agree that the more is more look is becoming very popular these days. This streetwalker is prime example.

I usually applaud people who are daring with their fashion, however, the only nice things on her are the tights and the leather jacket...everything else is really not working for me.

I think her whole look and persona is great.

Why should people critisise others for the way they dress.

Sure her outfit is over the top but atleast she has the guts to do it.

She looks older than she really is but hey, thats what being 'cool' does to you

Here is Namalee Bolle on channel 4 talking about the meaning of her style. This woman isn't your average 'shallow' fashionista. We can learn from people like her

I think she looks good because she obviously feels really comfortable in it. I don't really think it's anyone's buissness to put her down for being brave.
