Quote of the Day

“The people with the best style, for me, are the people that are the poorest. Like, when I go down to like Venice Beach and I see the homeless, I’m like, oh my god, you’re pulling out like crazy looks. They pulled shit out of like garbage bags.” - Erin Wasson to NylonTV.

Ughhh. Fashionista, don't you have anything else newsworthy to cover today? Other than vapid model who should stick to looking pretty and keeping her mouth shut? Surely, with what's happening in bankruptcy land today, perhaps the economy's effect on hemlines/fashion commerce/retail sales might be more useful?

hey guest 10,

im sure fashionista didnt mean that we should listen to erin wasson but rather quoting this stupid sentence of hers can be seen as funny, dont you agree?

i mean, there are stupid people around us; trying to ignore that fact is naive.

This reminds me of that Vogue photospread last month with Liya Kedebe in Africa where the "Malian children mix traditional textiles with items recycled from the West— a testament to a visual culture that's profound and inclusive."

"items recycled from the West" read: old clothes

Hahaha! I love it when clueless fashion people make Zoolander lines come to life. Are they seriously that dumb?

This should be a lesson to everyone: Go read a book and become Karl; Go rip-off your BFF's designs (*cough* Alexander Wang *cough*) and become Erin Whocares.

ahahah!!! I was all prepared to play the devil's advocate for a second and argue that it was probably taken out of context, but then I watched the video. That was heinous. She really is that dumb. And she's a try-hard. It didn't really surprise me to see that she hangs out with 17 year olds either.

Very reminiscent of that (mythical) old Mariah Carey quote: "when i watch tv and see those poor starving kids all over the world, I can't help but cry. I mean, I'd love to be skinny like that, but
not with all those flies and death and stuff."
