Your Bag

“What’s in Your Bag?” - The Mary-Kate Edition

This week, we took a field trip around the corner to the Young & the Banging gallery.

TYATB is a book showcasing 200 faces of “who’s next” on the creative circuit, curated by Heron Preston - and if you haven’t heard of him, you will. Purple calls it “the fascinating new generation born into the realms of fashion, art and success,” and though It may look like a grip of NYLON interns at first (well, some of them are), it really is a solid collection of some great new talent.

We set up shop on “School Photo Day” where anyone can come in and get their picture snapped yearbook-style and tour the exhibit (highly recommended). So after I got my pic snapped (after the jump!), I met up with Mary-Kate’s stunt double, a mother-son duo, and the cutest intern we’ve ever seen.

The Young & the Banging is at 255 Elizabeth Street, and you’re all invited to the final School Photo Day and closing party this Saturday, Sep. 27th from 8-11pm.

The lil one was so cute. . . especially when he dropped his shy act and started reaching into his bag and pulling out things to show you. Kids are hilarious.

She looks like she laps up the "you look like MK" comments. She comes from Rome, in case you didn't know.

My favorite was the little boy, esp when he drops his shy act in time to try on his hat for the camera. Classic!

do you think she would dress that way if she didn't look so much like her obvious style icon?

Does she come from Rome? She looks like she comes from Rome. Does she come from Rome? Does she come from Rome? Rome?

Pardon the snark but going on your Blackberry while you are being interviewed? BEYOND rude.

Umm...the MK lady was really shocking. Also I don't believe Rome is colder than here right now, or ever. It may even be warmer. I think that is what she was implying but I guess it made no sense because it was another gratuitous reference.

That girl is identical to MK...even the pursed lips..scary, but even more scary it's that her style is a copy of MK.

I have to agree with other posters. So much like Mary-Kate it's creepy. The joker lips. And even her mannerisms.

I think the jacket-"I'm from Rome" thing was that relative to Rome, New York is cold, so she requires more warm clothing than New Yorkers, who are acclimated to September-in-New York weather. It's like wearing a sweater when it's 70 degrees in Texas because you won't get much of a chance otherwise. I miss the fall...

I come from Rome, you know. So I need this huge coat.

I don't think so. It's like 20 million degrees there.

That girl may have "visited" Rome, but I highly doubt with that accent she's from there. And honey, please, it's not like it's snowing in Rome when it's 80 degrees here. At least she didn't say "It's vintage and I'm from Rome" :)

That was adorable. That kid was the best. It broke my heart a little that you typo-ed Lauryn Hill though. I needed to get that off my chest.

That kid though. Smush!

i think with the rome comment she was trying to say that since its warmer in rome shes not used to the cold in new york and needs a bigger coat...although i still think she was just throwing it around a little to much (the rome refrence not the coat)
