Adventures in Copyrights: One a Day Lifetime

vitamin shampoo advertisement.jpgSo here’s something weird:

The girls at Spoiled Pretty have spotted something rather strange - an advertisement for Vitamin Shampoo, a new product packaged in water bottle-like cases that show off their neon shades.

However, this is not to be confused with Vitamin Water, the drink of choice for many product placement situations, always with neon colors blaring, too.

Apparently, the hair care line is not owned by Glaceau, but by Vogue International, a company that apparently has nothing to do with Vogue either..

Needless to say, lawyers are involved. But imagine if they won a spot in Serena’s bathroom? “Chuck took my Vitamin Shampoo again!” Then we’re sure we’d see a real lawsuit..

I saw this! There is an ad in the Allure Beauty issue I think. My boyfriend saw and asked me to buy him the one that smells like his fave vitamin water! I can't believe this brand isn't owned by Coca Cola!

Even better is how they tried to change the packaging to cover their asses:

Talk about confusing the public!! This totally has copy right issues written all over it. It's basically vitamin water and Vogue international! Come on! Lawyers need to be all over that! Is the company just trying to raise brows and take the risk of being sued to get their brand out there? Nice try with that one...
