abercrombie and fitch logo shirt.jpgEven though each day brings more and more clothes at deeper discounts these days, even though the highest of the high-end are lowering their prices in the US, and even though their sales for the third quarter decreased 46% (and even though holiday sales account for nearly half their total sales), Abercrombie says it won’t jump on the sales bandwagon.
They say that in order to “protect their brand image”, they’ll just take the hit that the fourth quarter may be. So if you were hoping for $40 Abercrombie jeans come Christmas, you might want to redirect those hopes to, well, every other store.
We’re hearing rumblings of blow-away sales come Black Friday – the rare term “80% off” has been thrown around, and from major brands. Deck the malls!

Well, at least A&F is consistent with the arrogant attitude.

Does anyone even wear Abercrombie anymore? God, I remember back when their prices actually made sense and the clothes were good quality. Now you’ll pay $50 for a tissue-thin t-shirt. Ridiculous. I hope they go out of business.

haha, Abercrombie.

I think that abercrombie’s uppity attitude is ridiculous, but I really don’t see what’s so horrible about the store. I know its not ~*~*~*~*~high fashion~*~*~*~ and ~chic, but, really now, not all of us can pull off trendy things.

not horrible, just boring. enjoy those graphic tees and fur-hooded bomber jackets.

coming from a girl in high school, i can’t wait to see the day when every other girl is not decked out in abercrombie…

I agree w/ all. I hope this bankrupts them. Abercrombie can go back to the stone age where they came from!

I totally agree with guest #11.
Seeing every girl dressed in Abercrombie’s ‘safe’ clothing, its getting pretty boring indeed.

i love how abercrombie is not that fashionable.

“protect their brand image”? sounds like they don’t want poor people to buy their shit

i’ve worked there in the past, and know that they throw away thousands of clothes every year because they don’t want to taint their “brand image.” instead of, you know, giving it to people in need or making donations. because poor people don’t wear abercrombie. (in short, abercrombie is ridiculous).
i do like ruehl, however. although i always think it resembles a club selling some hard drugs whenever i’m in there.

why are you telling us??? We don;t what market fucking research, we want gorgeous Paris vogue editorial, etc.!!!!! and, I like to think fashionista readers don’t wear A&F anyways.

well i wear AF for casual occasions. i dont know why you are so against af
