Alexander Wang to Shu Uemura

Nov 07, 2008 @ 11:57am

alexander wang for shu uemura.jpgLooks like Alexander Wang isn’t done with breaking into new markets after his shoe collection for Spring:

We just heard that he’s branching into makeup for none other than Shu Uemura! No word on exactly when the line comes out, but the deal is definitely done - he even has his shade names picked out.

We can’t wait to see what his take on the best lipstick to go with black leather is, and we have a feeling nobody else can either.

Because wouldn’t you want to wear an eyeshadow called something like “Tough Chic”? Yes.

Update: Alex’s reps say the collaboration isn’t true, but, you know…

i think shu uemura has the best lipsticks. once i tried shu uemura i can't buy any other brand. best texture, no weird taste, not to sticky, just best i ever tried. or am i missing a brand as good as shu uemura?

I never found designer/make-up brand collaboration attracting... I don't know...there's just no meaning if you ask me...

oh, I hate it when these cool designers begin to go mainstream and sell, sell their name

FYI: Even tho Shu Uemura has been around for a very long time, the brand still isn't "mainstream", especially in the US Market. Mainstream = Lauder, L'Oreal, Lancome, etc... Shu isn't even a household name nor does the general market recognize the name, never heard of him, the line, his legacy, or know any of the amazing products (cleansing oil, foundations, makeup brushes, haircare, etc).

I'm not sure if Fashionista has addressed this before, but any recommendations on the best eyelash curler out there? I desperately need a new one. I've used Shu Uemura and Sheseido in the past, but is there a superior brand I should look into? Thanks!
