“Anna Wintour is now my mentor. She is not that person in ‘The Devil Wears Prada.’ She is like Catherine the Great of Russia. She has kept that magazine on top, raised money for the Met and for the Democratic party.” —André Leon Talley to a group of students via WWD.

Well, she almost killed the father of her children when her torrid affair with Shelby was revealed at the Four Seasons in Milan during fashion week several years ago. Uh-huh!
She's extremely demanding and knows what she wants. If she was really smart, she would step down as the magazine is a tad boring. Kind of a yawn. Elle is kicking their ass. She's been doing it too long.
Also: Miranda Priestly was a powder puff compared to the real Conde Nasty editrix.
They didnt nickname that ivory tower Nasty for nuthin!
And if you're really clever you may be able to find real old pics of Nuclear Wintour in England as a rather...bigger gal. UH-huh!

Catherine the Great is actually the best comparison I've ever heard about Anna Wintour. You know, minus the obesity and the whole getting some guy to kill her husband thing.
