Fashion Is Fun

Kanye Wants to Be Your Intern

kanye west really loves marc jacobs.jpgIt’s no secret Kanye West really takes this fashion business very seriously.

Not only was he very sweet about getting rejected from Balenciaga’s Fall 08 show, but he’s also designing a line of shoes for Louis Vuitton.

So if you work in a design house and are looking for an intern, listen up: Kanye wants a starter position at “a house,” so he can put his millionaire hands to work fetching lattes and eavesdropping intern-style a la Sean Avery.

We know we normally provide contact information for this sort of thing, but it’s Kanye, so we can’t. We suggest interested parties try him via his fan club message board. We honestly think he would be a really good intern.

"Maybe you could be my intern, and in-turn... I'll show you how I cook up summer, in the win-turr" - Kanye

He would be an amazing intern!

You believe that Kanye West, of all people, would be a good intern? I hope there was sarcasm in your tone that I just wasn't able to detect due to my sleep-deprived state.

If you are in fact serious, have you never seen/heard/read any of this man's ridiculous rants? Are you unfamiliar with his egomaniacal ways? Because if you think he will be running about town fetching materials, running errands, and following other people's whims, you are silly.

You could be right, but it seems like his egoism is mostly confined to music. He thinks he's the greatest thing in the history of music, but he readily admits he needs to know more about fashion. Especially after reading about his surprisingly rational reaction to the Balenciaga incident, I think he seems pretty sincere about this. Honestly, I have a hard time seeing him fetching lattes too, but I really admire the fact that he's actually trying to be a real designer, not just another celebrity "designer." I think if he was interning at a prominent fashion house he would be pretty respectful towards those above him.
