Madonna to Louis Vuitton?

madonna really knows how to sell it.jpgThis just in from Style File:

The Style.com blog says they’ve heard that Eva Herzigova’s been replaced as the face of Louis Vuitton for Spring by…

Madonna.

Madonna hasn’t been the face of a major fashion brand (we’re not counting Gap or her own H&M line in this) since her Versace ads for Spring 05, and needless to say, we have higher hopes for this time.

On another note, isn’t it kind of sad that so many Fall 08 supers are getting pushed out for Spring?

I don't really like her for LV, oh well they're ads haven't really been good since all the supers on the taxi cabs, and that was the first good ad in a WHILE.

I hope the ads will not be showcasing her terrifying arms. Those things are really out of control. I am all for muscular woman, but she looks gross. Maybe if she gained some weight she wouldn't have to pump all of that stuff into her face.

i thought the collection was young and FRENCH! madonna does not represent either in her lifestyle or her candid fashion choices... i think maybe a more appropriate model would be sasha p? or maybe lily d? someone who screams young europe more

I propose eliminating the "X to Y" meme along with "Is the New." Both are overused.

Sad for the supermodels?! I'm not sad at all that they are being pushed out for spring. They shined in the nineties, they shined last season, and they're still raking in big bucks at the snap of their fingers. I'm all for the new faces and the rising stars- they need campaigns and their talents aren't stale. The next modeling generation is about to take over though...Lily, Coco, and Raquel have been at the top for a while now, and I think people are ready for the new girls. But I can't stand celebrities for campaigns either- didn't anyone learn from the massacred ads that were Balenciaga this past year?! Yikes.

I hate Madonna. Fake, cheap, tacky and humorless. Takes herself way too seriously, and it comes through in photographs. Bleh.

Madonna's first Versace campaign was brilliant. With the poison apple? LOVE IT.

Looking at this photo makes me think that Kate Lanphear's signature jewelry is nothing but a Madonna homage.

That is just plain sad. There is nothong classy about Madonna, or edgy for that matter. She is a greedy, selfish woman.
