Wow, they went out of business? To be honest, I thought their designs were lacking in recent seasons and hadn't purchased anything in a few years, but they seemed profitable.

I definitely think they should have stuck with hoodies and jackets, as their dresses and other clothing styles were pretty lame. But they obviously ran out of ideas for hoodies and had to branch out.

^^^They're getting rid of their mens line?! I certainly hope they got rid of everything else (shoes, dresses) before they did that! They should def. stick to outerwear.

ok Fashionista, I am now incredibly curious over whether or not Mike&Chris is still in business. please give us some of your investigative journalism on this issue!

well, i spoke to their publicist yesterday, and she said the rumor is 100% untrue. she said the only news regarding mike & chris is that they're moving offices right now. no one else i spoke to had any idea where the rumor started either. maybe the moving of offices has made it look like something else to some people..?

Went to the sale at 10:30AM and there was a sign outside that said CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. I managed to get inside and there was no merchandise. The guy in the office said that they have no idea when the merchandise is arriving. The location is so random and in the middle of no where so this was a real inconvenience.

wow guys, i am so sorry about this. i've contacted the mike & chris people and they said they have no idea what's going on with the sale right now, and that they would contact me again as soon as they figure out why the sale didn't start as planned. i'll definitely post again the minute i hear back.

I wish I had checked back and read the updated messages here. What a huge waste of time! On top of that it's raining. It's between 9th & 10th and on the way I wondered is this right address? It's right next to a huge fenced parking lot. Yeah I agree with guest 1:22. If they're really going out of business they deserve it!

ok, they just got back to us - their PR people at blue stripe say there was some kind of major shipping error, and the sale is being rescheduled for 4 - 6 weeks from now. as for going out of business, they're still saying it's absolutely untrue...

I am majorly pissed...I convinced my boyfriend who HATES shopping to drive into the city for this sale. Guess what? He sat in traffic for 2 hours and paid for parking only to find it canceled.

The people at Mike & Chris are total jerks. If there really was a shipping error, shouldn't they have known well in advance? Either they knew and didn't have the decency to announce it BEFORE everyone schlepped to a nonexistent sale, or they were expecting the shipment the same day as the sale. Let me just sat that it is completely asinine to announce a sale before you have the merchandise in hand. Either way, I am so over this label. Good riddance!

As a former employee for Mike & Chris, I have to defend them since I know today's link will inevitably send people to this article. Though I completely and utterly understand being pissed about the cancelled sale and inconvenient jaunts to the middle of nowhere, I have to say that people should not consequently see the entire company in a negative light. While the label is being bashed, what hasn't been highlighted is the fact that Mike Gonzalez and his wife Chris(tine) are some of the nicest, most pleasant people to work for. They were so humble, gracious, incredibly hard working, and down to earth. We were treated with respect and consideration, which is BEYOND rare in this industry. The shipping error was probably on behalf of some random idiot who was too scared to let anyone know about the late arrival of merchandise, not the entire company's. I say be pissed if you must, but don't paint the label black.

^^^well, the coats in my experience are not the best quality. the leather is beautiful, but the first one i bought for over $600 came unlined and still sheds black stuff all over my clothes. i have also had multiple buttons break and fall off and glue leak out of the seams. so this really isn't their first offense in my book.

All the negative comments coming out shows that the company was not very structured and taking advantage of their employees and customers. i've also purchased a hoodie couple months back and noticed a lack of quality construction. the buttons are falling off which can be easily fixed and just over all, stitching is uneven. it's not surprising that after they made some money they decided to bank on this success and lower quality of hteir product.

i have forever 21 rip-offs of Mike & Chris designs, but the quality is actually on par, if not the same. (i am talking about cotton hoodies, not leather, obviously)
