Who Wears Pink?

mk olsen pink tutu seriously.jpgFun fact of the day: Pink is the best-selling color of clothing in America.

No, really. We read it on page 94 of Influence (yes, we’re kind of obsessed):

Mary-Kate Olsen: Pink is the highest selling color, or so I’m told.

Jack McCollough: It’s so weird. I don’t ever see anyone in pink, but I always hear that’s the highest selling color.

We never see anyone wearing pink. Ever. In fact, this was the only picture of either Olsen in pink that we could find.

Sure, we live in New York, but we hail from all over the country, and Canada, and we don’t know anyone, anywhere, (I do own one pair of hot pink skinny cords but I never wear them), who wears pink.

Do you have a secret stash of pink dresses in the back of your closet? Is there someplace in the middle of America where everyone wears pink and smiles all day?

Let us know, k?

Two pink dresses, several pink blouses, three pink sweaters, and many pink shirts/shells, tees. There are so many shades of pink, so I wear it year round. Also, it's a great color to layer with.

Southern sororities. I have never bought and owned so much pink apparel as when I was at college in VA and in a sorority. I have since moved back North and my wardrobe is once again mostly of a black/white/neutral persuasion.

my sorority doesn't wear much pink at all. but we're also in santa barbara- we tend to stick to blues and greens and neutrals that go with our beach location. and on that note, the only pink thing i own is a bright bubblegum pink shawl scarf. i like to wear something bright on dreary days.

I was surprised when I read this post, but after I thought about my wardrobe, I realized it's true. I only have one pink tank top and one peachy-pink tank top. Any other pink items found in my wardrobe are relegated to underwear and prints. I do, however, like raspberry shades, but I actually only have one raspberry skirt (and plenty of nail polish).

Might be a long shot but after doing the Breast Cancer 3-day this year I have about five times the pink clothing in my closet than I did a year ago.

Out of support you wear your pink to the fundraising events you attend and you also need clothing for three days of walking - multiply that by thousands of women/men x lots of cities = a lot of pink. Plus there are a whole bunch of other breast cancer events all over the country all of the time.

I own mostly black (and actually no other colors that I can think of), but I love to throw on a bright pink scarf or blazer, or wear a filmy, blush pink blouse under a black or gray business suit for work. Plus, I think it looks great with gold metallics.

I have: one light pink $4 sweatshirt from a clearance rack. Underwear. Nail polish. And a lacey tank top thing.

That's it. I live in Arizona, though, where a majority of people do wear much more color than I; and when I was in college, it was ALL OVER every sorority girl (and wannabe sorority girl) in sight.

When I was ten, though, my favorite outfit consisted of pink cords, a pink turtleneck, and a navy blue sweater-vest.

I thought I was the stuff.

Oh, and dont let me exclude the pink makeup] I personally i think SPLASHES of pink are best. No one needs to be walking around looking like a bottle of Pepto-Bismol.
