Wanna Dress Like Ralphie?

alex wang onesie.jpgSometimes designers make outrageous things that make us go, “Um, really?”

We’ve been scrolling through Shopbop all morning, (because all tops are 20% off and we have a crush on James Perse), and we found these Alexander Wang waffle shorts. They have little buttons and look like they’re probably saggy in the butt and the model is seriously wearing them with black patent heels.

We thought, “Those are kind of weird.”

But then we found the onesie version.

It’s not so much a question of would you wear a onesie, because it could be kind of fun to run around a log cabin in a waffled onesie with a fur hat and hot chocolate, in theory anyway, but more about how a onesie should never, ever, cost $302.

In fact, Wang himself sums it up pretty nicely on Style.com today: “There’s no point in creating clothes so out-there, so special that no one can wear them. I try to stay in touch with the customer.”

Um, they're $300, and they already have holes in them? Do not want!

Most things in fashion should never, ever cost as much as they do.

Onesies are pretty standard, and I can't imagine that Alexander Wang's are any better than the $20 ones I can get at my local department store.

I would definitely not pay $300 for a pair.

On that note, I want a pair of onesies with an ass-flap. It's been a dream of mine for YEARS.

Guest #2 - Fun fact! I plan to share that at the water-cooler today!

PS - I just looked at the website. It has holes and is dry clean only! Definitely not paying $300 for that!

punani: someone who dictates their personal style from worshiping at Alexander Wang and Erin Wasson's feet is no different than one who does it by reading the front pages of us weekly. Don't kid yourself.

Wang has some great pieces, but this onesie is ridiculous. It is almost like he is making fun of us - people pay $300 for shredded jeans, so why not $300 for a hole-y onesie?

Even if didn't have holes, it is nothing special. Can't you buy something like this at LL Bean or Victoria's Secret for $30? Anyone that pays $300 for this is a sucker.

I'm certainly no fashionista...
I like pointy toe heels, and I'm from somewhere #4 probably considers worse than Jersey....dun dun dun...the South! but! even I can see it looks like some mice chewed one those long-johns (yea, that's what they're called)
So! Hahaha yea, they're ridiculous
