Would You Like a Ham with that Dior?
By Natalie Hormilla Tuesday, Nov 11, 2008 / 3:31 PM
So we were flipping through the Saks Holiday Gift catalog this morning, when we came to page 168. Not too far away from the Oscar de la Renta robes and Diptyque soaps was a rack of lamb for $150. Next to that, mesquite smoked peppered beef tenderloin, for $130.
Now, we get the whole Target-inspired one stop shopping thing, but meat? From Saks?
Guess we missed them moving into the gourmet market.
But it’s comforting to know that, if pressed, we could get our Thanksgiving turkey for less than one of their candles.

well neiman marcus has done that for years so…
This is really common in japan- Department stores offer arrangements of traditional New Year’s Day food, food gifts as the year-end presents that most japanese give and receive, etc..
Also common in the UK and Paris. I dream of Harrods food hall.
Yeah but Harrod’s has a food department so that’s natural compared to Saks and others. Still you are right.
