Reader Josh pointed out this jacket from Sean John (at right) to us.
Even with the Hefty bag quality of the material, it probably looks familiar to you. Why? Because it mimics the iconic, puffy Moncler jackets, of which we’re sure His Puffness is fully aware exist.
Need further proof? He’s dubbed his lookalike “the Montclair,” which is a little like giggling while taking money out of a store register.
But we guess it must be ok, since he is Puff Daddy (oof, we went there).

Très funny indeed.
But fyi, you mean “pas cher” (no “e”).
This is funny because EVERYONE makes puffy jackets. Uggh seriously. I think this was just an excuse to make puffy jokes.
yeah, I don’t think this should really count as a “knock off” since almost every brand / label/line has their version of the puffy jacket. I even got from SJP’s Bitten for less than $10
@1:
“Ch√®re” could work, no? “Une veste ch√®re” ou “Moncler‚Äîune marque ch√®re.”
LOVE LANGUAGE. LOVE FRENCH. LOVE COMMENTING ON THE ßLÖĞÔŞPHÈRE.
You can’t be serious. Everyone and their fucking mom has made a knock-off of this “iconic” jacket then.
I honestly only see this as another reason for the snobs at Fashionista to shit on brands/people they hate.
hommenivore, “une veste pas ch√®re” is right indeed but the general expression “pas cher”does not need an “e” at the end. Love French too!
Shiny, Puffy Jackets are nothing new. I would bet that no one in here could figure out who first created the shiney puff jacket. Gap, Old Navy, Karma Loop, 80′sPurple, Macy’s, Nordstrom etc all carry them!
Oh and by the way wasn’t diddy wearing shiney suits/puff coats back when Biggie was alive..not to mention Missy Elliot!
This jacket is also copied by Joe Fresh stores in Canada.
yeah i was going to say, everyone makes a puffy jacket. did moncler invent it? i think not
Um… every company has made a heftybag puffy jacket this year. and it has been “ripped off” (Was moncler even the original?) by stores in japan for ages.
Does this really count as “adventures in copyrights”?? EVERYONE makes puffy coats. Nothing new. So the name is close. Big fucking deal?
His Puffness…lol
but it’s called the “Montclair”, everyone! I think that is what made it “adventure”-worthy. It’s like, of all the ways he could have slightly changed the name of a cheap knock-off jacket, he had to choose the one that (from what I understand) is a sort of icky place in new jersey? Pretty funny…
seriously what #8 said. i don’t like puff daddy but rappers and their ilk were wearing puffy jackets way before some designers decided it was marketable to white suburban youth and started selling it to them at ten times the cost.
I agree, 15. In fact I think it’s fair to say that Moncler is ripping us off for making puffy jackets seem like something new and fashionable and then making us pay more than oh, say fifty dollars for them. And then the neon Moncler handbags? Really? C’mon I think Diddy is our friend here.
Moncler as a fashion/design brand?! What a joke! Paid their way into editorial by buying a ton of advertising and then bought only by complete fashion victims with no style/idea of their own…
umm i live in a place where you actually need a warm winter coat and if this is a copy then all I can say I wore a coat like this when I was little soooo then I was cool at the age of five? I see probably 10 black jackets like that every day…
actually…they made that up. the jacket doesnt have a name.
More than a little disappointed to see a “brought to you by” ad in my Fashionista RSS from a fake Gucci retailer. I know you have to pay the bills, but I was sad to see it on a site that’s so loyal to the real thing.
Montclair is not an icky place: http://gawker.com/news/montclair/where-they-weekend-montclair-nj-243262.php
Cheap Sean John crap is made in China whereas Moncler is not.
