Would You Wear a Corny Tee?

vandelay industries.jpgHave you been wondering what, if anything, you’ll get for the holidays this year?

How would you feel it you received, say, the shirt at left? You’ve probably heard that “escapism” and “fantasy” purchases are doing very well this year (apparently dwindling bank accounts make people want to jump to another life), but would you have guessed prank tees are having their own mini-revolution?

Sites like PrankPlace.com have processed more than double their usual orders lately, due mostly to shoppers scooping up $15 shirts that say stuff like “When I’m Alone, I Google Myself.” So here’s what we’re thinking: If you have a little brother, a big brother, or a mildly funny dad, expect a corny t-shirt this year. Consider this your warning, unless of course you like looking like you’re at Six Flags (or in the basement section of Urban - take your pick.)

I think it all depends if everyone gets it. Like the Vandelay shirt... guaranteed most people i know wouldn't get it, so i have to ask myself do i just look stupid? Or is it worth it for the few people that do watch Seinfeld at my school?

If I received a goofy t-shirt, I'd laugh and thank the goofball who gave it to me. Then I'd wear it wherever I wanted, and wouldn't give a shit whether or not anybody else thought it was funny. Srsly? Who cares?

Maaaaybe I just need to take a break from reading fashion blogs, ha ha . . .

Agreed skepchick, my husband has bought me a few here and there and I have to say they's sort of great. Depending on the style and, as always, who's wearing it, they can look cute on a Saturday to throw on with jeans. Love this site but once in a while they can really sound like fashion amateurs trying way too hard.

yes yes yes, but they aren't really pranks. they're just advertising things and places that only exist in fiction.
