Alison Lewis + Ashley Granata = Fashion Week Love!

Ashley Granata, formerly of Style.com, and Alison Lewis (do we still have to introduce her as half of the former Mooka Kinney?) have teamed up to show off their collections in a joint show at New York Fashion Week!

Alison will be showing her Fall 09 Lewis collection alongside Ashley’s accessories line, Ashley Jeanne, on February 12th. Picture a collection inspired by vintage circus images and tents and the “silent film and slapstick comedy of the 1920’s” from Lewis, alongside Ashley’s line which was inspired by royal porcelain and antique book bindings (most people know Ashley as the girl that put together all those parties for Style.com, but here’s a fun fact: She’s also a textile designer formally trained at Chelsea College of Art in London - think Marchesa).

The event marks the second full collection for Alison, and the debut of Ashley’s.

And since Ashley definitely knows how to throw a good party, we suggest making sure you get an invite - they don’t go out until Monday!

i'd like to see u try to be around for even 30 seconds. hun, until you can get your two steps into the fashion world, you can't say anything. and its pretty lame ur hating on Lewis cuz its so adorable!

I hardly think you need to "get your two steps into the fashion world" to have an opinion. "Ur" a classic example of a recurring theme on this blog, #8. Disliking or being skeptical of something is "hating", and whoever thinks the big news of the day isn't actually that big gets attacked. Furthermore, it's ridiculous and clearly a fallacy to say that a person needs to work in the fashion industry directly to have a valid opinion. Isn't this blog evidence enough that that's not the case?

just enjoy the beauty of Alison's designs whether they will be around for a minute or a lifetime.
the "big deal" is that she is bringing beauty into the world in her own unique way. you all should at least appreciate Lewis for that!

I never liked Mooka Kinney, they seemed like a second rate Vena Cava. Nothing personal, I just wasn't into their clothing.
