And Jay McCarroll, Too

jay mccarrol is shocked he has a documentary comingo out.jpgWhile you wait for The September Issue to finally hit A&E, there’s another fashion documentary making the rounds: Eleven Minutes.

The documentary follows Project Runway Season 1 winner, Jay McCarroll, for a full year while he tries to ready his first independent collection for New York Fashion Week.

Sure, that sounds a little like Unzipped without Naomi, but we think it’ll be a good balance for the overly wrought fashion television shows currently messing with the definition of “reality.”

The movie hits screens February 20th, and you can expect tons of zingers: The IMDB character list includes Kelly Cutrone.

Eleven Minutes is called the "working man's 'Unzipped'" in Variety. It's definitely character driven, but it's much more about the work (from sketch to runway) and less about the glamour. Kelly Cutrone is not only in it, but plays a pretty large part. She's fantastic in it. There's a trailer at www.jaymccarrolldocumentary.com

Cutrone is, as usual, tactless and hilarious. And Faran is in like, the first scene, talking about taking classes with Judy Chicago.

I saw this at the premiere in Philly and thought it was great! It's very different from Unzipped because Jay really struggled financially throughout the film and you see a lot of the ups and downs from the business end of things. Two thumbs up!
