Quote of the Day

“I was certainly surprised by Anna’s prominence in this industry. It’s true that she is really this singular figure in this enormous global industry. You can make a movie without Stephen Spielberg’s blessing and you can publish software without Bill Gates’ blessing, but you can’t get a dress you designed on a rack without Anna Wintour’s blessing. You kind of have to see it to believe it.” - R.J. Cutler, director of The September Issue.

Oooh have to disagree #2. Are you serious? I hope you are joking because if she knew you called her "girlfriend" she would slap you across the face with her eyes.

Wonderful? It's a necessary evil. Influential? to a shrinking number of followers who think Michael Kors is high fashion. Exceptional? Hells no. Self Service is exceptional. V is exceptional.

I don't hate Anna, i think she is stunning and smart but she also has limited innovation and diversity in american fashion, especially in contrast to other creative industries, which I think is Mr. Cutler's point.

I'm in between 2 and 3. I think she's remarkably influential, but hardly innovative. Sure, Vogue may be a bit stale and boring nowadays, but it's still got way more power and influence than any other fashion magazine out there.

I completely agree with #3.
To state that American Vogue is "a wonderful and influential magazine that still delivers exceptional content month after month" makes me wonder what you are doing on this site.

I'm in complete agreeance with 3 and 5. People need to stretch out from beneath their rocks.
