she looks terrible. that is a bad color on her, and she looks too thin in that baggy top.

Was the inspiration Gap ads circa 2001? I want to start singing "I'm just mad about Saffron.." or one of those other Gap-esc jingles... It'd even pass for Old Navy... just bad.

Uh oh the comments are all cut off - is it my comp or has sphere eaten the middle of the screen? These ads are just blah. If Stam and Wasson can't make something look good, what chance do the rest of us have?

One guy has two polos with the collar slightly popped!! That reeks Abercrombie but even Abercrombie is more polished than this with more interesting ads. That was hard for me to say.

nylon can suck my ass and so can the gap,
this ad could be from 10 years ago, which would have been lame at the time too.

The thing that disturbs me most is Stam's pants, and how they're sitting over her platforms. I could have lost ALL my money in the financial crisis and still not dress like that!

Haha and also, I love how they obviously had an afterthought "Shit we need some black/asian models" and just squeezed them in the back as awkwardly as possible

It's fashion as escapism. Gap is trying to recall its halcyon days before the tech bubble burst.

the ones of the guys aren't terrible because no one really cares about them. however, you just destroyed stam and erin wasson. they are way too pretty to be wearing khaki pants. ew. get it together

Wow, everyone. Settle down. This achieves exactly what it's supposed to. Gap is getting back to the basics and is not supposed to be super high fashion. These models look fine. Sure, they don't look runway-ready, but that's not why I shop at Gap. I go there for khakis and polos for the weekends. For that, it works. Stop being fashion victims, for God's sake.

I can't stand khaki. Ever since I worked in a chain restaurant and had to wear shapeless khaki pants and a men's size large shirt, it's been associated with bad, bad fashion memories.

I also don't really dig polos. And I have to say that Erin Wasson, while pretty, irks me. For all kinds of things pointed out here on Fashionista, like her ignorant comments about homeless people and her ripping off Bliss Lau. So, no thanks, I'm not buying whatever it is she's selling.

Why why WHY would they use Ein for this? She's got too much of a hard edge. She just doesn't do preppy well! Stam on the other hand can do anything. Stam=goddess!

i'm trying to figure out what is exactly so "new" about these polo's. how new can they really get anyways? and im pretty sure that 95% of the time khaki anything is not acceptable...especially with "new" polo's

They're "new" because they come in a variety of colors and stripes now and they've "beat their own record at softness."
