Rumor Mill: Olivier at Nina, Part Infinity

nina ricci spring 09 oh olivier.jpgWe’re getting breathless e-mails asking what, exactly, is the deal with this Grazia item reporting an already battered rumor - that Nina Ricci is looking to replace Olivier Theyskens with an unnamed successor - from the front row at Spring 09 couture this week.

But honestly, we’re surprised it’s even come up again. Not only is Olivier’s Fall 09 show in mere weeks, but he just announced a major accessories line with Nina Ricci not even two weeks ago, and Mario Grauso, the president of Nina Ricci’s parent company Puig Fashion, recently made a point of reaffirming his love for Olivier after rumors of disharmony persisted for months.

Unless of course, all these facts are worth nothing, and Olivier is about to face a Facchinetti-style ousting this March (even though his contract with Nina Ricci isn’t up for renegotiation until this October.)

Guess we’ll have to wait until the dust (and front row boredom) settles.

Er, wasn't the Facchinetti ousting to do with [ALLEGED] um indiscretions with a Valentino high-up's other half?

I don't even think this is even somewhat true, Nina Ricci has been selling well and Olivier is making sure he stays longer then he did at Rochas by doing an accesory line which he didn't do at Rochas. These rumors are just things people are making up because they didn't like his Spring 09 collection...

I think Puig would be kicking themselves in the ass if they let Olivier go..

I wouldnt be surprised. He's very talented, blah blah blah, he obviously didnt learn his lesson from Rochas. Its great to not bend on your artistic abilities but its still a business at the end of the day.

thank you number 5 pretty and ghoulish is great, but women with money dont want it! that speaks and its nowhere near as good in real life. another case of someone who just cares about the show and attention and not what women desire just like piloti.......... nicholas proves can mix art and commerce. I think they are kicking their asses for hiring him! NEXT! they should have held out for pheobe philo, that would be a perfect match its the womens touch that ricci needs not a boy who thinks he's a woman.
