Fashion Is Fun

Sneak Peek II: The September Issue

anna and bee met ball.jpgReader Danielle found herself at Sundance’s premiere of The September Issue and knew she had to share.

Her favorite part? When Bee (Anna Wintour’s daughter) tries to engage her mother in a serious discussion on her own legal career aspirations while Anna gives her a “We’ll-see-about-that” look.

For more Vogue-y bits, jump.

But only if you want to know what happens!

“The movie opens with a close-up of Anna’s thoughts on people who mock fashion. Namely, that they do it because it makes them feel alienated. Next, a montage of various Vogue-ettes talking about Anna doesn’t want this, Anna doesn’t want that, I’m going to get fired, I’m going to kill myself, etc. The film’s audience started out laughing at these comments, but by the end I think they realized they were serious and less melodramatic than they originally thought. The montage ends with a phone call from a photo shoot, ‘We’ve got a problem. Anna doesn’t want Hilary or Chanel.’”

“By the end, Grace is rushing to put together a last minute photo shoot when she suddenly looks at the camera mischievously. The next thing you know Grace is directing Patrick Demarchelier who’s shooting Caroline Trentini when she makes cameraman Bob Richman jump with Caroline for Patrick. Grace + Patrick + Caroline + Bob = that photo from the September 2007 issue in which Caroline’s looking straight into the camera mid jump.”

“Andre attempts to play tennis in white pants and a polo t-shirt with a LV monogrammed scarf/towel/blanket around his shoulders, an LV monogrammed tennis racket cover, an LV monogrammed water bottle holder and an LV monogrammed case.”

Thanks Danielle!

Why is this tacky man so important to fashion?

Guest 5, if you've ever read "Life with Andre" in Vogue you would understand why he is so important to fashion. His knowledge of fashion is mind blowing, and his passion is inspiring. That's why he is important to fashion.

Andre may know about fashion but his personal fashion is DISGUSTING. He's the most pretentious fashion editor on the earth. I wish Anna and Andre would disappear into thin air. It's too bad there is a middle America because Carine Roitfield is the only fashion editor who is creative, NOT pretentious, doesn't put on airs, can actually style a fashion shoot. Not to mention she doesn't put celebrities on covers we don't care about.
