Would You Wear

Would You Wear a Name On Your Ass?

this chloe swimsuit would be cute if it weren't for.jpgThis morning, while perusing the Net-a-Porter sale’s Newest Reductions, I noticed a simple bandeau one-piece that would be perfect for Florida family events. But upon further inspection, I saw that my cute suit blared the name “Chloe” right from where the ass cheeks usually go.

Now, you probably have a good idea as to how I feel about huge logos anyway, but words on my ass? I hadn’t given this much thought since the first time I was assaulted by someone’s terry-clothed butt cheeks informing me of their Juicy-ness between classes. Needless to say, I did not think this was something in which Chloe partook.

So am I just being a prude? (Britt says words on the butt-area of clothes wouldn’t stop her as long as they were small enough / she loved the individual item enough.)

Or do words on people’s asses scream “I’m trying to look hot for dodge ball” to you as much as they do to me?

You're way overthinking it. If you like the suit, you like the suit. Move on.

This is way different than some sweats. I think the graphical element to the text really improves the concept, and I like the idea more when it's providing a bit of division on one piece in a solid colour.

I like it.

It's hideous. The Chloe logo ruins a classic suit. A big NO.

i think this logo isn't hideous, this one plays more on design, where as juicy is simply tacky.

There is nothing wrong with taking your style rules seriously, I have a certain set of them that I think are not cute or fun.. just things to say no to. Things that are fun while still being sophisticated. That just looks generic not quirky, the logo on the bum thing is over.
Always take yourself seriously when it comes to fashion, even if you're making a fun quirky statement.

UHHHHMMM?! this suit is a definite No! WHile the letters have more character to them than those on juicy sweats, the theme is still very much tacky.

The thing about this Chloé suit is that people will be staring at your ass even longer trying to figure out what the hell it's supposed to say.

I'm actually shocked Chloé went that route.
I agree with you entirely - just not into it to be honest.

In general, the idea of branding for branding's sake (this is a classic example) is a bit crude. I, like other commenters, am a bit surprised that Chloe decided to go this route. I wonder if the dire economy may usher in a return to the blatant ostentatiousness that prevaled after our last economic meltdown in the early 90's? The logic behind that being, when pople have less money to spend on less luxury items, perhaps they may want the few items they do splurge on to pay for themselves with advertising. I.E. "Look at my big YSL Kahala with the metallic logo!!! SEE!! I AM recession-proof!"

if the logo was up maybe 3 more inches that would have made so much of a difference.

this is a no! having words on your butt is a little werid already. for some reasono it seems okay on sweats but for bathing suits it just doesnt work.
