First Look: Alexander Wang

What follows is a list of why Alexander Wang is the most perfect Valentine.
1. This isn’t a fashion show, it’s a rock concert at Roseland Ballroom.
2. He’s incorporated both chocolate and tequila into his pre-show cocktails. They might taste foul but it’s a valiant and appreciated effort.
3. Ok, so he has nothing to do with this one but walking into a venue shoulder to shoulder with a Margiela clad Sarah Jessica Parker is kind of cool.
4. The black bandage leggings – like an Herve dress for your legs – make me wish I was sitting next to Rachel Zoe so we could die together.
5. My box of Sweethearts are 90% white and that never happens.
6. He opens the show with “Welcome to the Jungle” which means the front row – Fabiola, Lauren Santo Domingo, Erin Wasson, Pamela Love, Keegan Singh, Jen Brill, the Richards sisters, Derek Blasberg – is seriously rocking out. I like to think Anna, Bee, DVF and SJP are rocking out, too.
7. He takes his bow wearing a backstage pass around his neck, as if they aren’t going to let him in.
8. This is unrelated to his Valentine qualifications, but there was fur. Discuss.

Seems like a star studded show, but I was rather dissapointed when I saw it some good pieces others looked trying too hard, ths shorts made MODEL legs look chubby which is really bad if u want to sell, the final dresses were good tho. Some pieces of fur were good but others were the antitesis of how to wear fur.
I never like it when designers use fur, but I’m always more disappointed when young designers use it. I feel that fur is outdated. I also feel that our generation is (or at least should be) more educated and sensitive in response to the environment and the treatment on animals – so to continue to use and wear fur is frankly a bit ignorant and arrogant.
Such a disappointing collection. I love the leggings, but everything else is pretty awful. Can’t wait to read how Style.com reviews this mess from their newly anointed CFDA winner.
Well, fur is okay with Carrie Bradshaw, so it’s okay with me
Alexander is a genious of the new generation. This collection is amazing and surpasses his last collection. Love it xx
trying too hard, didn’t like the juxtapositions of materials, and not even the attitude of the show. Attitude in Wang’s collections seems to be everything, and I couldn’t get any from the photos. Not even anything new, or never seen: at least with his past collections he gave a new image of the young woman, and I thought that was what made him special.
I love Alexander Wang!!! Wish I could have gone to the show!
